• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

See, I can ask this question because I don't have a clue :)

OK, lets just say I ride my spyder until it actually runs out of gas. Sputter, sputter, sputter, zip...done...... Then I fill up the tank while I'm on the side of the road where the spyder died ....... Any idea what the odds are I would run the battery down before I got fuel to the engine, starting the spyder?
OK..... so I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed...lol
But what I am thinking is, I could then come up with the amount of fuel the spyder will actually hold before overflowing.
Makes perfect sense right?

Fuel injection - electric fuel pump, when you turn the key on, there's a whirring noise, that's the fuel pump pressurizing the fuel lines, you've got gas at the injectors before you can hit the starter, thanks to the "press the M button" message.

Thanks Retread.

well, guess what..
I ran out once on the side of the highway, pretty sure it was bone dry too cause I was traveling up hill and as soon as it leveled out... poof. It just stalled. I knew I was low, but wanted to push the limit. I was only about 5 miles from the station service area when it happened. I had to hike it up the side of the parkway to get a gas can. Came back to pour some in and although it hesitated, it fired right up.

The second time, I was literally pulling in to the service area. Poof, the engine just cut out, but it was already hesitating as I got close. Same thing again. After a fill up, the engine hesitated but fired up and all was well..

Why do you keep running out of fuel...this isn't good for your injectors or for the bike as a whole...you need a reserve tank, or something! :D

Well, with all the miles Mr Caro has on his Spyder... I would say he just doesn't like to stop for anything :D

How much fuel?

Alright Nick, then my question for you is.... how much fuel did the Spyder hold after it ran out of gas twice?

well, the first time, I don't know cause I had to borrow a gas can and then ride to back to the station.
The second time I went over 6 gallons. Just a tad over, not much.
