• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Shifting on the 2014 RT's

Checking oil..!!

you should check it regularly. It's nice they have made it easier on the new RT but I check it after any ryde over 300 miles or accumulated rydes in that range. In a couple occasions my check engine ligh has come on and oil level was to low. Added oil and all was good. Always carry a qt. with me. We just don't know what oil consumption the new engine might have as yet...

Joe: Thanks for posting the information. It took a while for us to get the old RT's figured out and we are going to experience the same with the new 1330's. Every piece of information counts. :2thumbs:

Are you all going to do the 9300 mile oil change interval?

I for one will follow the suggested intervals. 3000 miles for the break-in service and roughly 9000 for the recommended oil change service intervals. After the initial service, it's looking like once a year for a lot of people. I don't think I would recommend going more than a year without an oil change though.

Still clunks on 1st and Rev

About the same as Pre-'14's. :)

Earlier I said it doesn't sound like a diesel; wrong....at idle it does. But, quietly, more refined.:ohyea:

I almost hate myself for doing this to you Joe, but why bother "checking your oil pressure ?"

:hun:, DUH, I meant my oil level. :opps::opps: (Almost hate yourself for doing that :roflblack::roflblack:) in other words you had fun doing it :lecturef_smilie::lecturef_smilie:

The guide doesn't say how often to check the oil level, just the procedure on how to check the oil level.

Something like "Idle engine 30 sec AT NORMAL TEMP before checking". I check mine as I did the '11, after I come in from a ride.

Looked under mine today and the two oil drain plugs are not covered by panels like before. This will make it easy to change.
But to get to the filter you have to pull the right side mirror and the top panel. On paper it looks easy after that.
