There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Shudder - 2012 RT

I'm a new Spyder rider, and have only put 600 miles on my RT. I've noticed when accelerating above 40mph that "sometimes" I feel this 'shudder' in the bike. I'm having it checked and I suspect a belt adjustment. Has anyone else had/felt this?

Can't help with the shudder question. The possible solutions will come.

:welcome: and :congrats: on your new ryde.

Questions:
Which transmission does your Spyder have?
"Above 40"; perhaps a little clarification regarding this fact might help...
What gear are you in?
Is it the same phenomenon from all speeds, or does it change?
Why do you suspect the belt? Do you see an unusual amount of belt dust accumulating on the rear wheel?
And where is the belt riding in the rear pulley?
Hopefully with some more info; the truth will be told!

it could be not enough rpm you should shift around 4500to 5000 rpm if you shift at a slower rpm it might shudder,or seem like that.:chat:

I initially thought that as well. but it happens ABOVE 40mph... If that is the problem; more speed should eliminate it.

Thanks for your response. It happens in 3rd or 4th gear, when I need a little extra speed. I could be in 3rd gear at 40mph and give it throttle and get this little shudder.... I haven't noticed dust. I'm putting the bike in for it's first check up and the dealer is the one that suggested it could be a belt "alignment/adjustment".
If and when I find the answer, I'll pass it on.

thanks again

Thanks for the respone.
It's not due to running low rpms. I shift anywhere between 5 and 6k, except between first and second, then around 28-30 mph.

I'm getting the first check up and if they find a reason, I'll be sure to pass it on.

Thanks again.

On my first 600 miles checked(800) when I got her in, the dealer mech updated the onboard computer. Check your mech these updates and hopefully will solve your situation. Let us know.
