• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spending some time not riding, should I disconnect my BS Lithium battery?

Should I disconnect my BS Lithium battery if I'm going to be away from my 2019 F3-S for nine months? Or is it okay to leave my BS smart charger connected to it? There is so much contradictory information on the net, especially AI generated.

Nine months is quite extended, personally, I would remove the battery & leave it on a maintainer in safe environment. Smaller lithiums & maybe not so smart charging can overcharge them; for most devices I have a 90 day calendar reminder to recharge them. Some are used more often than others, (if nothing more than just for sanity) but over 90days, all get a charge.

Considering the fire hazard involved with leaving any kind of battery unattended for that long on a charger, I would take it out of the Spyder, give it a full charge, then leave it in a cool (or somewhat cool) and dry place to sit, and when you get back, put it on the charger and let it do its thing before you put it back in place on your Spyder.

I would definitely remove it from the vehicle and store it some place where it would not be likely to start a fire. Maybe leave it on one of the very low amp, smart trickle chargers.

Disconnect one lead off the battery, Lifepo4 batteries discharge so little that nine months is not a problem and do not leave it attached to a charger/maintainer. FWIW.
