• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer for dog

Larry,
I don't care what the chicken littles say about the sky is falling but our dog Trina has logged more than 6,000 miles in her trailer. It has 4 windows which all open and a vent on the top , It is built the same way as a refrigerator truck with aluminum and fiberglass with 1 1/2 foam core panels . The same as the very large trailers that the show and hunt clubs use. Trina loads up when we open the door. I never open the window in front as I am concerned about fumes . It has a memory foam 4" thich cusion inside for her to lay on , shes an English Setter and weighs about 45 pounds . The trailer weighs about 250 lbs. This paticular company is no longer in buisness as the owner retired. But there are others , the price was about $3,600 but you get what you pay for and our dog means alot to us. I have built a seat for riding her two up, but prefer the trailer.

These aluminum box trailers are great and have been used to haul dogs in Europe for decades with virtually no issues. Sure there is a risk of being rear ended and the dog getting hurt (I doubt it does not happen that often) but leaving your dog with someone to watch...your dog could get lost too. Life is full of risks. Adding extra lights all over the rear of the trailer might just make the entire unit (motorcycle and trailer) more visible.

As far as exhaust....I dont believe that moving down the highway it would be an issue. You could modify the dog trailer so that the fresh air inlets are on the top or the non-exhaust side of the motorcycle also.

I have been a professional dog trainer for 35 years; I dont see anything wrong with this. Now....you need to train the dog to enjoy the trailer just like you would their dog crate at home. You need to make sure that your dog has the temperament and solid nervous system to emotionally handle traveling. And....we use to operate a highly professional and properly operated Dog Boarding Facility. We know what else is out there and "board" at your own risk...some lose dogs, allow dogs to die if a medical issue arises, etc.

I have traveled by truck air jet all over the USA and Germany with my dogs....properly prepared it is fun for dog and human ! ;)

And like "easysuper" said; hunt clubs and dog show people, competitors and breeders use these type of dog trailers (they come full size too that can haul 4-8 full size dogs) all the time.

Find one you like and farkle it up !

My Shepherd would go anywhere with me. His nose and ears are crazy acute. I can't subject him to all of that. The noise and exhaust are excruciating to him. I miss him when I travel, and he would take a bullet for me, but he stays home! Nobody hurts my friend - especially me! JMHO, Joe

I am with you Joe. As you know my three Giant Schnauzers weigh a total of 340# and would need a horse trailer but then the Spyder would be complaining.
