• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I got the DPS "fix" done on Tuesday. It was still pretty cold so I trailered it back and forth. Well today, it was in the mid fifties so I was fired up to log some miles with my new steering.
Well, for about 10 miles, it was great and then....VSS light, Check Engine light and the dreaded limp mode. 20,000 miles and I have never had an issue; never seen any error messages . But with the new DPS..well there goes that record. I got the VSS failure and check DPS messages with the limp mode. :gaah: So I pulled over. Did the 3 key on and off. No luck. Let her sit for about an half hour while I extolled the virtures of the spyder to a couple of interested guys who pulled up to admire the spyder. No, I didn't tell them my problem. Just all is good in Spyderland. Back to the dealer. It was my first visit to this dealer since my original one gave up the BRP line. Obviously, I am not impressed.
Anyway, the wait didn't fix anything. I limped home. Just glad I wasn't any further away. I had about a 150 miler planned.
Happy New Year:ohyea:

Bummer! Hope you get it fixed and back on the road soon. Looks like we'll get over the rain tomorrow with temps still in 40's so I'm hoping to celebrate the new year with a ride....if the roads survive the tornado watches posted tonite.
Happy New Year!

They should follow the DPS replacement bulletin ad literam. One of the steps is turning on/off the key 5 times after they hook the B.U.D.S.

glad/sorry to hear i am not the only one this has happened to. same scenario with mine exactly. got it fixed and free on bail, going for a long tour, made about 30 miles an BLAMMO, codes up the HOOHA, managed to limp home. Then onto the trailer and back to the dealer. Of course they found a problem ( BAD GROUND ) would send me a bill and warranty paperwork . HMMMMMMMMM nevere received a call or anything . My opinion BAD DPS ( new improved version ), never had previous issues , but a recall being a recall > Hope you get it all worked out. Have about 1000 km on mine now ( keeping track ) and no problems. GOOD LUCK.:gaah:

I don't know what he did in the install. I didn't stick around to watch. When I got back, he was on the computer clearing codes.
BTW, when the error messages came up, that's all there was. No codes, just continuous "VSS failure and Check DP" followed by the limp home message. :dontknow:

Sorry to hear.

Sorry to hear TD. Siince my update in November, my spyder runs great. No more backfiring etc. Hopefully they will get yours back and running like before. But on a different note, Happy New Year to you. Jerry
