Gave it a good cleaning after a 6 day ride to Sturgis. Lots of grasshoppers and bee's. But I did manage to avoid the hail 25 miles away

Saw lots of videos of people caught in that hail storm online. Didn't look to be too much fun. Glad you were able to miss it. As I tell all my friends, when traveling, I have one phone for navigation and one with the weather radar pulled up. The radar one dictates my travels when necessary. That is how we were able to do 3 weeks cross country and never once got rained on last year.

Did a longer test on the blind spot radar today... It's also my second time doing a video. The first one was an overexposed mess.

I had adjusted the sensor before, but I probably pointed it too much to the right, hence the yellow sometimes lights up when a car behind me is slightly to the left...

Nice job on the sensors! They do need to be standard equipment!

The hail can be brutal in the Black Hills. Car, Truck and fifth wheel got hit by hail at different times in Rapid, One storm a few years ago the city of Custer had to break out the plows to clear the streets.

Rode down to see my Brother, and to see his progress on his total refurbished Honda 250 CRF (2006 I think). It looks better than new.
Ran some errands on the way home and topped off the tank.

That sure sets that gloss black off perfectly. Not an easy job to get accomplished.

Mine is going into the shop next week. It needs a new left hand multi-module switch cluster. Apparently BRP poorly designed the contacts for the blinkers, and probably other contacts as well, so my left blinker doesn't work. I sprayed it with electronic cleaner but that didn't fix the issue. Fortunately, I was able to buy the OEM part from a place that sells it for over $200 less than what BRP is asking, plus free shipping.

After my last ride, I found a couple of loose screws on my Route 129 shield. I replaced them due to the Allen sockets being rounded from too many installs and removals. New hardware installed with a dab of blue locktite.

I've gone back & forth with the 129. I like the looks of the F3S with just the gauge spoiler, but once I hit a headwind I wish I have the 129 on. The 129 has been on now for over a month, and I now finally realize how much it helps. At this time I have no intention of removing it. I don't get any wind buffeting, but it is a bit noisy. In fact, of all the shields and styles out there, I personally think the Route 129 looks the best on the F3S.
If I ever replace it, I'll put a tinted GP CYCLEWORKS Route 129 style shield on it.

Good call avoiding the hail, that stuff can ruin a trip fast. Glad the cleanup wasn't too bad!

I got beat up so bad from the wind with the gauge cowl on my trip down to the dragon a couple of weeks ago that I had to go to the doctor last week to get some prednisone for my back because it just wouldn't stop hurting. When I go back down in October I am throwing the Blue Ridge back on until I can get a GP as well but I think I am going to go for the 20" euro flip. After this last trip I don't want to get beat up like that again for almost 2K miles.

Which leads me to what I did today to get ready for October, I took advantage of a cool dry morning to do the work. I started repainting the Blue Ridge again with priming the windshield and hardware for a new color scheme. The whole windshield is going Black with Metallic Blue hardware.

I also did my front and rear brakes, and once that was completed I did an oil change, then baby got a bath to finish it off for the day.
