• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What my local Can AM dealer told me!!

Questions

I spoke to my local Can Am dealer (1/2 hour from my home) (They never got the license to sell Spyders although they want to. They were told that BRP did not want dealerships to close to each other) asking if they could work on my Spyders (2011 & 2012 RT Limiteds) to save me a 2 hour drive to have warranty work done. Although they can work on them they can not do warranty work. In the course of our conversation I told them about Spyderlover.com and some of the issues covering alot of the different Spyder models and how some of the problems were directly attributed to improper dealer set ups. They said that it was fairly common for them to sell brand new BRP sleds and not have the assembly or maintenance manual sent from BRP 9 to 12 months after they were out on the trails. Thus frustrating their mechanics who would like to have them to study before setting up their first assemblies. I wonder if our beloved Spyders suffer from this same level of incompetence/ lack of foreknowledge that the dealers have to deal with thus creating some assembly issues because the manuals are not sent to help them out. Just Asking!!

Don't know..!!y

when we got bikes for assembly the instructions came with the crate. Each one had the assembly instructions and set up/service included. Some dealers work with storage companies that assemble them and deliver them ready for prepping to the dealer. Not sure how BRP does it. When I ordered my bikes in south america they also came this way...:dontknow:

Not sure if it's the case with Can-am but BRP Evinrude dealers are allowed a 50 mile radius for their dealership. Last time I checked that's only about an hour away in any direction. They (BRP) also have some strict quidelines on how many units they must buy and quality of dealer service dept. that must be met.

That rule apparently doesn't apply everywhere. I bet within a 50 mile radius of my house there are over 10 Evinrude dealers.

We have two dealers pretty far apart, but one of them actually moved away from the other to become an authorized dealer.
