• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Your Weather News @ June Edition 2026

Yesterday was a weather adventure here in the neighborhood, to say the least.

A crap ton (technical term) of rain and wind. The wind was strange in that it changed directions many times and as a result, the trees in our area suffered greatly because of the torsion.

Our neighbor to the north, who has several trees near our property line had a MAJOR limb of one of his maple trees twisted off of the tree. I mean major too, 16" diameter! We have a wooden privacy fence along the property line there, and the limb came thisclose to taking out the fence. I was actually outside with the dogs when it happened. I didn't see it, but I sure heard it!

It was a strange ripping sound as the limb was torn from the tree, but it sounded like metal to me for some reason and I thought that it was my other neighbor's new metal garage being torn apart.

It seems that a squirrel's nest was thrown from the tree, along with at least one squirrel. The critter wasn't injured and landed in our yard. He hauled ass to another tree and that's when the dogs spotted it and hauled ass in pursuit. They all ran around to the north side of our house and when I followed them, that's when I saw that the limb was down.

We had a bit of damage to our HUGE Trumpet vine bush/tree in the back yard. It was also twisted and about half of this beautiful vine was destroyed. My wife was very upset by this and is still ranting and raving over it.

Mother Nature, right?

The 'bargain' tree service showed up yesterday to work on the above-mentioned tree. By 'bargain' I mean that they did not have a bucket lift, instead, a 'brave' soul climbed the tree using spikes attached to his legs and a small chainsaw hanging from his belt. Crazy as the tree was VERY tall and he was WAY the flip up there! The dude must have been in that tree for around four hours. I don't know how he found the stamina to do it, but he did.

It's a bit sad because the tree was more than 30 years old and I planted it! Long story on that, short version, when we bought this house, we thought that the property line extended farther that it did, we didn't find out where the real line was till 19 years later. I planted a total of 5 trees along that line. One down.
