There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. 2016 RTS SE6 Rattling sound on start-up only - any suggestions?

Fellow SpyderLovers Riders. GDoc here, When I start my 2016 Can-Am Spyder RTS SE6, as the Spyder is starting up, I hear this rattling sound coming from under the seat, it sounds like metal banging together for about 5 to 10 seconds, then stops.

Going for a ride, 40 to 50 miles, stopping for lunch and starting up the Spyder this rattling sound doesn't happen again. Seems like when the Spyder sits over night or for days, on start up only then this same rattling sounds happens.

I'm waiting for the rain to stop and then I'm going to pull off body panels and start the Spyder up to see where the rattling sounds is coming from. Sounds like it is just under the body panels.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, ride safe, and watch out for the knuckle head 4 wheelers.

If the sounds more towards the rear of your butt and not forward, it may be your compressor, I believe that bike came with one! Just a shot in the dark. Good luck!
Thanks Mike. Yes it does have one. I'll check the pressure, maybe it's just low, or if it's going out. I have just over 17 k miles on my Spyder. Thanks again. GDoc

Well, when the pump starts going on them sometimes, they will rattle and make noise, but sometimes they just leave the chat room and leave you hanging! If it goes, I would take it out of the loop and go manual fill like a lot of us have, it's a weak link in the chain in my eyes.

Thanks sounds like a solid plan. I haven't had a chance today to take a look. But will do in the next few days. Thanks again Mikey. GDoc

Trikermutha, thanks for the reply I'm using the BRP brand oil. There's a mechanic, Rockies, he knows the Spyders inside and out. Coyote Powersports just North of San Antonio in Boerne, TX. I use them as I'm not much of a mechanic. Also, as far as the rattling noise, it is coming from the ACS. Checking the pressure which was showing 22 psi. I'm going to add more air up to 35 psi. No leaks, I guess just over time loses air. Thanks for everyone's tips. GDoc

You can add all the air you want, but the bike will push it out if it's too much for what it's been set at for ride height! That's how that auto system works, it is set up to hold a certain ride height when you're in gear and on the bike, if someone gets on with you and makes the bike go down it pumps more air in the system to get it back up to the designed ride height, if they get off it will dump the air back out! It's a heck of a system, when it works; when it doesn't, not so good; then you're riding on the weakest shock you will ever see! Ask me how I know that!

So the banging is the ACS ? I found in when starting it, the rattling was related to the oil, and I switched to Amsoil at the time. Made the bike much quieter during startups. Good luck on your ACS issue.

Normally setting the ACS if it does lose air, it will fill back up during startups if low per your setting.
