I've been to Tuscon a couple of times. I thought it was hot in Utah. Central and Southern Arizona is just on a completely different level.

I just reached the five year mark with my RT, and have just short of 25K miles. I wonder if that is more or less what the average Spyder owner does in the same time period.

I typically ride between 8-10k miles a year, but last year and this year are higher since a 48 state tour was included in the mix. That alone added 12,445 miles. I also spread those 8-10k miles between 2spyders and a 2 wheeler.

Did a 150 mile ride today and came across a Harley accident where it is reported that he was passing a truck and was struck while passing. Truck was not there and left the scene

Went and got the Arizona Spyder out of storage. It fired right up. It has been an a tender since early May.

Rode it home the 2 miles without a helmet, as I forgot to bring it along. Man, I heard engine sounds that I do not hear with a helmet on.

Aired the tires back to my spec when I got home. Pretty hot to ride here right now, however, I can look at it!

I did pressure wash the decks and put away a lot of my stuff before getting to the fun stuff!!! Now to find the GPS and AA screen. It might be in the truck, but I left it here until Carol can drive me back to retrieve it.

I have high hopes about getting to ride this week, as the temps will be below 98° for the first time since the heat dome parked over North Alabama several weeks ago. The last time I rode her and filled her with gas was August 6th. The heat sucks when you are an ATGATT kind of guy. Getting ready to do the SW update and get the changes worked out BEFORE I ride it again. Last time, it put all the audio onto the bike speakers without my asking it to.

Short ride yesterday in and out of fog and mist. This is the wx pattern though winter. Misty foggy mornings, getting drier in the afternoon when its not raining. I still ride all year long.

Check out the ATGATT discussions. You may be unnecessarily limiting your options.

Or maybe, he's just making what seems to him to be the smarter/safer choice?!

It really doesn't matter whether you 'believe' that ATGATT helps or not - irrespective of your beliefs either way, you can be certain that NOT wearing ATGATT will increase the likelihood of any accident you might be involved in resulting in terminal injuries, even if you just slide along the road surface for a short while! And regardless of how carefully you might believe that you personally may be riding or not, those pesky 'accident' things can still happen - that might be why they're called 'accidents' rather than 'deliberates'!!

There's been a few of them reported here over the years, including one earlier this year, which admittedly, resulted in somewhat more significant injuries, but if you bother to search for and read some of these threads, you might see why it doesn't take most readers too long to work out that the majority of the 'eventually fatal' Spyder accidents reported here involved riders who were NOT wearing ATGATT, with the 'lack of appropriate gear' often being a significant contributor to the eventual fatality - here, I'll help you get started, check out this thread, I'd suggest you read at least up until post #33:
