A word of warning about 2024 and newer RT and F3 handlebars!

A word of warning. Since the 2024 model year, Spyders, both RT's and F3's, have had a major change to the handlebars. I'm not talking about the switches and their new locations. The handlebars now are tapered at the ends and are NOT interchangeable with earlier model year handlebars. Also, you will NOT be able to use items such as Lidloxs on these bars. The ends of the bars are threaded for the stock bar-end weights. Also, if you DO want to swap out handlebars from stock to the optional Can Am handlebars, (such as Short Reach), be aware that the left grip is mounted to the handlebar by 2 torx screws, that are not obvious. You must pull back the rubber grip to find the screws. Do not try to force this grip off the handlebar, it has a very small two conductor wire for the grip heat that is easily broken.

I have Lidox on my 2024, last year they did come out with a 2024 version…

I have a 2024 Spyder F3-T that was an unsold leftover from the dealer. I bought the 2024 compatible Long Reach Handlebar, part number 219401269. Upon receiving them, they are the same dimensions as the stock bars. The dealer did not add any accessories to the bike before I bought it. My invoice from the dealer for the handlebars has the right part number, and the Can-Am unopened box has the correct part number.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The dealer ordered the right part, and BRP tells me to go thru the dealer, but they will tell me they ordered the right part. BRP says the dealer will have to argue with the BRP parts department. :( :(

Mis-packaged at the factory? You would like a shorter bar that will allow you to lean forward, correct? Can-Am handlebar options can be confusing sometimes.
Welcome to the forum, by the way! :)

Thanks Sarah, I do think the factory put the wrong bars in the box. BRP said they are working on it with the dealer in case of a return.

We ordered a color panel for one that had been lost on a customer's bike. We ordered the correct part #, but when it came, it was the wrong color. When we investigated, we found that BRP had discontinued the original color. They had changed the color but retained both the name and part number for the new color. Nowhere in any literature could we find this information listed. But since they delivered 'What we ordered', BRP would not let us return it.

Lovely!

I think BRP has some challenges shipping the right parts it seems. I ordered a BRP heated comfort seat for my 2022 RTL, box had the right number on it, but what was inside was the regular RTL heated seat. It even had the Limited stitched into the seat just like the one I already had. It was a bit of a process to get it returned and credited. I haven't even tried to reorder. But I still am hoping for the seat one day.

According to the information on this dealer's site, Part No. 219401269 is, in fact, the standard handlebar that comes on the 2024+ F3. See pic. (zoom in) That coincides with the installation instructions for this part number, which call this the Standard Handlebar.

So, in other words, you're already at Position C. There was an Attitude Bar at one time, that got you to Position D, but I'm not sure it fits the 2024+ F3. Jetfixer knows more about this than I do. You will notice that at the center bottom of the bar is a tab. At lest there used to be, It fits into a slot in the lower half of the mounting block. Loosen the four bolts, and you can move the handlebars forward and backward for a short amount. If that tab were to "disappear", you'd get more motion available. There are aftermarket options as well.

Good catch, I saw that as well but just thought it was a 'generic' install sheet. I have played with the range of up and down with the slot in the bars and the tab it goes into. Thanks for the reply.

I found a parts catalogue and identified the standard handlebar part number - # 10 Carbon Black, Handlebar 709402697
Stock-F3-Bar.png
It is different than the 'long reach' bar which is 219401269
So, I will wait for BRP to respond but at least I will be applying for a full refund.

The "old" F3 Attitude handlebar does NOT fit on the 2024 and newer bikes.(F3 or RT). How I wish it did since I still have my old Attitude bar and absolutely loved it on my 2020 RTL! The main difference with that handlebar over any of the others is in the fact that the grips are "raked" rearwards a few degrees, which completely changed my wrist angle. BTW it's not that the handlebars are a different diameter anywhere but at the ends where the grip/switch modules mount that prevents their use on newer bikes. The slot in the bottom, and the diameter at the stem clamp are the same. You just can't mount the grip/switch modules. And, oh yeah, BRP no longer offers the Attitude bar for the current model years.
