• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

British comedy was a little more raw and sometimes biting and was difficult to find the humor in American TV comedy shows. Action shows based upon cop dramas and the excitement of Hollywood in that genre helped Brits escape the depression of post war Britain, but the comedy didn’t translate so much as people couldn’t equate to supposed American family life.
Yes, I agree.

Growing up in Britain, the 60’s and 70’s were a weird time for television. There was some excellent comedy, usually based on the Second World War, which was a huge part of life’s experience for British adults; or it had rather sexist and racist themes as some in society pushed back against the change that was occurring in British everyday life..

American television hadn’t yet taken hold, in terms of comedy at least. British comedy was a little more raw, sometimes biting, and it was difficult to find the humor in American TV comedy shows. Benny Hill, what was not to like?

Ya *brit humor* here in the States is often misunderstood, if at all! I can’t say I actually understand more than a vague gist of some!

Bfromla,
Thx for the closeups on that coffin. Crazy build, but you gotta love the imagination.

I'm still hoping to catch the owner & get more info. I passed by & the driveway was quite full.

Well, it was considered Saturday night humor back in Britain at the time, along with "Are You Being Served", "The Dick Emery Show", and others, once considered classics of British comedy.

Today they might be be considered sexist and often racist, I suppose catering to British society at the time.

There were more mainstream shows like "Dad's Army" based around life in wartime Britain which were better considered for more enduring tastes.

Something like all the "Carry On" movies or "Saint Trinian's" movies at the time.
I know they were not politically correct, but I liked them.
