I know, I know the proper way to attend the Maggie Valley is to Ryde. But circumstances may require us to make a trip to Wisconsin after the rally and we thought, why not take the Spyder? So we purchased this little 16' toy hauler. It has over 11' of garage and 5' of house. What do ya think?
The first two pictures were from the dealer's lot before I restriped it.

:dontknow:
How about some pictures showing the Spyder loaded up ?
:thumbup::thumbup: Nice rig! I have never seen one that light, with an indoors shower and kitchen. Probably still to heavy to tow with my F-150 2WD Supercab, but we are getting closer.
Do not worry what anyone thinks on how you get your Spyder where you are going.
EXACTLY! Do it the way you want to do it. You may get a bit of frienly ribbing but we all get that for one thing or another.
Getting there is all that really matters.
Scotty. Any F150 can tow this toybox. Even with the Spyder onboard plus gear we are under 6K. Let's talk in Maggie Valley.
Looking forward to seeing it at Maggie Valley. Still pushing the 6,900 pound limit for my F-150. I don't like to haul that close to the rating. Wrecked a good truck that way once.Scotty. As long as you have the electric brake controller in your truck you will be fine. You have 1000 lbs to spare.
I have a brake controller on my truck. I don't like to use any large trailer without brakes...even if it is not required. Even my single-axle, 1,200 lb, 3,000 GVWR cargo trailer has been fitted with brakes. Some states require them for trailers as small as 1,000 lb GVWR, anyway. I don't like hauling any trailer that weighs much more than the tow vehicle. In difficult situations, a heavy trailer can start to push the tow vehicle around, and that can cause problems. No matter what the rating, I try to stick with no more than about 2/3 of the tow rating, or better yet no more than the tow vehicle weight. That is my personal limit, not a rule or law. Besides, towing a heavy trailer is hard on machinery. Others can do as they please, it's just my preference to avoid those possibilities.
I understand and respect your views. However it would make it a little tough on over the road trucks if they couldn't tow more than their tractors weigh. Towing heavy loads takes a skillful driver. I have many years of driving big rigs and feel very comfortable with my setup. But I agree it's not for everybody.I don't like hauling any trailer that weighs much more than the tow vehicle.
