• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP and Spyder dealers

This may not have anything to do with some of the BRP issues folks are having, but could some of the problem be with the dealer and not with BRP?

It's possible the dealer isn't in good standing with BRP for any number of reasons. Maybe the account is past due and a cash only basis applies. Could be anything :dontknow:

Which cup is the nut under? :roflblack:

Some/most of the issues lately are warranty issues [tb's ecm's] The dealer doesn't pay for the those parts,
In fact the dealer gets paid by BRP to do the repair.

I don't know this for a fact but I suspect that BRP pays one heck of a lot less than the going shop rate for warranty repairs. This would explain why some bikes are in for a long time getting warranty work done. It also explains why I am delighted in not having a warranty on my present bike.

BRP is in the business of selling. They do that very well. Branching out into over the road vehicles has been some uncharted territory for them and I believe it shows in their dealer selection. While the DNA of a Spyder and a Seadoo are basically the same, the expectations of the owners is way different.

Honestly, given all the headaches people report on this forum for warranty work, I'm debating whether to even buy one on my next bike.

For me, it's just catastrophic insurance. Anything less, I'll likely avoid the hassle and just pay for the dang fix myself.

Or, could be the reverse of this.

Maybe BRP slow pays warranty labor claims from the dealer or tries to substitute dealer credits for cash.

I know that would certainly cause me to put the Honda or Yamaha servicing ahead of BRP.
