• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am REALLY glad...

I can't help but feel this thread is in poor taste. Too many here are frustrated with their machines and anxiously awaiting solutions and don't need the rest of us rubbing it in that we're glad we didn't jump on any 13s, etc.

Just my 2c.

Love our ST

No issues, no problems. I agree about all the "I'm glad I didn't posts". Seems trying to be positive can sometimes be a scarce commodity.

The only threads/posts that are in poor taste are the ones that Lamont removes. Just think how boring it would be if we all agreed on everything and every post was a happy post.

Perhaps not in poor taste, but what was the point of it, and how much validity is there to it?

Chris

At least it is not insulting anybody. And I believe the OP is just expressing an personal opinion, which we usually do. I don't see it as either poor taste or a worthless post, it is just an opinion, and it is OUR opinion to decide the value of that opinion...

Just my personal opinion...;)

I certainly wasn't insinuating all posts should be happy and we should all sing kumbaya! I'm certainly guilty of rocking the boat enough. I imagine Lamont has been really close to clicking the ban button on me more than once.

We all know the issues at hand with the current models. Just seems the post was rather insensitive to those with rather frightening issues at the moment. In the least, it seams unconstructive. I have no issues with making an "I'm glad I didn't get a 2013" comment within threads. Plenty have done so and has been appropriate. But, a whole thread? It just seems to make a mockery of those impacted...

Most here are older than I am and have far more wisdom. If you all think I'm out of line for commenting, then so be it. I apologize.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But reason being on 'no ban' is that there are no heated arguments or insults. Maybe because I consider myself having tough skin, but as a HAPPY 2013 owner (5600 miles so far), I don't feel insulted if the OP made his statement. NOW... if he went on to say something like "All 2013 owners are (insert your insult here) because...", then I would see a ban hammer coming faster than lightning.

The reason I started this post was a 2nd reply to others on the "Thinking of doing something crazy". In that post I was seriously considering trading in my paid for 2011 for a Lave Bronze 2013 RT and 7 years (:yikes:) of payments. I am not insensitive to others having this problem. I hope to God no one gets hurt with melting master cylinders and other problems. I was just stating my humble opinion on 2013 model year and hoping that BRP will get off the stick and fix the problem. Except for this bump (small hill) in the road this is a great machine. I would still recommend to anyone that asks to go test drive one at your nearest dealer and buy one if they can. Like I said in the 1st post they will hopefully have gotten this problem fixed by the time I need a new one.
