There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. i installed o2 sensor and hi flow air filter today and WOW
throttle response is sooooooooooooooo much better with no hesitation or hiccups. my hindle now have deeper powerful rumble and none of that dry-heaving sounds it used to make and running cooler too.
i took the baffles off of airbox as suggested so its just a big rectangular opening and yes there is noticeable howling air intake noise at full throttle or 3/4 of throttle but i think it adds character to spyder:2thumbs:
of course it would be a personal preference as some may not like noise but i dont mind it at all for better performance. i was just gonna get o2 sensor but it made sense that i should do something about restrictive intake as i did for exhaust with hindle.

i dont know if i will get better mpg also but will report if i do.

one thing bothers me is when i opened the airbox there was quite a of dirt and grease/oil and also grease/oil on filter too.

anybody in market for air filter with 6300 miles on it? :D

Which filter did you purchase?
i bought ken's along with o2 sensor. its washable filter at 50 bucks.
on my way to san diego i swung by his shop and we talked for almost 2 hours. i had alot of questions and i was trying to pick his brain for info :D

Is the filter a much better fit? Looking at it myself too. But you got me thinking about the O2 now as well.

Filter works great but I would save your money on the o2 eliminator. It takes a closed loop system and sends a fixed modified (rich) signal to the ecu.

I had one on for thousands of miles and even after resetting everything my Spyder ran too rich to the point that it would gurgle at low rpm. Ron had the same pipe without the o2 modifier and his Spyder ran better. When I went back to the stock closed loop setup my mileage went back up and my throttle response was much crisper at the lower rpm.

I'm glad that it seems to work for other but I gave it a good long test and for me it was a waste of money.

By the way I have Ken's fuel pressure modifier still in the box if anyone wants it. $50 bucks shipped to you. I never even opened the box.- SOLD

i thought about installing one item at a time to see exactly what benefit i get from each item but....
i may still test it out thou but o2 sensor at the worst case, is making hindle sounds so much better. that symptom which i described as "dryness" is almost all gone. also i do believe throttle response improvement is related to o2 sensor also.

next time i have the panels off, i will install stock filter back on and report the result on what o2 sensor does by itself and vise-versa (i am it wont be too long a wait, i have taken off panels so many times lately:D)

oh by the way, them 100 dollar hid kit went bad and was shipped backed for refund:(. i will wait till i get corbin bags and than get the real hid:D
this really WAS the last time i spend money on spyder till i get the bags :D for now i aim headlights low and use highbeams :p

Oh :cus: send me your paypal info i will take the fuel pressure modifier
This really is it till corbins.....

Forgive me for not being up to speed on all the mods, but I have been thinking for a while that my low RPM throttle response, while not bad, could be better. My Spyder runs great, but at low RPMs I find myself sometimes giving it a bit too much throttle resulting in lurching. I get this at low speed, in traffic, behind someone who is going slower than I want to.

My question was, will an O2 modifier like the plug and play one at evoluzione for $90 help those symptoms? You mention you used one for a while and ran too rich. I don't have an after market exhaust either and didn't know if it was a requirement for the O2 modifier. The evoluzione web site says their O2 modifier improves low throttle driveability.

Am I referring to the same item you didn't like? What's your take on the evoluzione O2 modifier?

Thanks, Tony

Edit.....Did a search and it appears the consensus is that you shouldn't put the O2 modifier on with the stock exhaust. Anyway, I was looking for smoother low throttle response if anyone has a suggestion.

trm17118, last spring I was looking to buy some of the stuff that Ken at Evoluzione.net was selling. I called to get some more information on a few things and he said not use the O2 modifier with the stock exhaust, its bad for the catalytic converter. If your not finding the answers you want for your low RPM problem, I would call Ken and see what he says. He is very familiar with Rotax engines.

yes o2 sensor is for after market pipes
had a long ryde today and i gotta say WOW again:D
these two mods have opened up my spyder so much it accelerate more like a motorcycle now than ever.
worked so well i am tempted get racing fuel system too as i feel spyder is capable of more but i probably shouldn't. i am already too hard on throttle.

Picking Ken for info, Yep, did that a few times.
Ken is a good source and good to work with. He tollerates us beginners and has helped me tremendously. All you newcomers in SO CA, it is a must to get mods from him.

I am in no way paid for this advertisement, but would welcome the $$$.

Truely, he has done all my mods. (Airflow system, Leo Vince, O2 sensor, Penske shocks, license plate relocator...man, no wonder I have no more money. Waiting on the black sway bar and I should be set for a bit
Thanks Ken

one drawback of opening up my spyder is nanny kicks in far more often now. i think i will try stiffening the shocks. i am definitely getting anti-sway bar. also want the penske shocks too but corbins first.:D

for those who have not seen them pics below are baffles i taken out and what airbox looks like without them
