What did you do to your Spyder today?

Made an awesome day trip from the Raleigh, NC area through Mountain City to ride the Snake all the way to Shady Valley, Tn. From there we took the Damascus road to the shortest tunnel at Backbone Rock. Then we made our way up to the Back of the Dragon and stopped in Tazwell for some photos. Riding was great and it was a personal test for me to see how well the F3L would do on a longer ride, since I am planning on riding this to the NorthEast to finish my 48 State tour. Total of 7 Spyders, 1 Ryker, and 1 Victory. We did get separated on the way home, due to some misinformation as to whether to stop to gear up when we encountered a little shower. I was watching the radar and figured we would ride out of it (which we did), while others decided to stop and gear up. But we all made it home safe. It was a long day. I left home at 6:25 and pulled back in around 8pm. Total of 549 miles. I felt really good at the end of the ride. But about an hour later, I was exhausted. However, the ride was well worth it.

Great trip!
We got to visit some of those same places a couple of years ago when we met our buddy @Dasmoetorhead for ride on The Snake. Good times!

Hi @dpetrick,

What brand of tire did you install on your Spyder?

I still have the OEM tires on my Spyder. I hope to get a set of new tires, maybe next year.

The wear bars on the OEM tires look OK for now.

My Spyder is still on the battery maintainer, waiting for warmer weather here in Vermont.

Kenda Kanine was installed. 35 degrees when I left home, 45 when I left the dealers. 72 miles each way.

Actually, the point just before the tire lifts is the limit.
Once the inside tire is in the air, it moves your center of gravity up and out, reducing the available cornering force.

Picked up a new AGM battery for my RT, filled it and put it on the bench in my garage for a charge over the night.
Now I will look for some star washers before installing.

This is the first Kanine I have had on my Spyder. The tread looks deeper than the earlier Kendas. Traction seems fine. I do not ride real hard, just a lot, so I don't push the limits of tires. Will see how long it lasts.

I believe these floorboards were the single best accessory I've added to my F3S, and was also the first.
