Been off the bikes and the computer for 8 days while wife and I lived it up on the Outer Banks. Well, we didn't live it up, more like relaxed. The intial plan was to ride the spyder, then the forecast for rain came into play, so we were going to take the mustang convertible. Well, the highs were in the lower 60's and upper 50's, so we took the truck. Believe me, going from 38 mpg, to 25 mpg, and then settling for 15 mpg on the lightning was a shock to the pocket book. But all went well. Got exactly 4 weeks before heading up northeast to finish up our 48 state tour. Going to make an appointment to have the new rear tire installed (have a buddy that said he would help, but really just wanna get it done now) and order an oil change kit. Might not get the oil changed, but just in case i decide to do that at the last minute, I will have it. Hope to get some more riding in before the trip.
Oh, my buddies wife is riding up with us and has approached me about switching the leave dates from June 1 to sometimes in July. That wouldn't work due to our annual family vacation. Then she mentioned August, I am looking to avoid the extreme heat that we could encounter in August, plus I might be riding back to the northwest in August. So she said she was still good with June 1. So we will see.
