Anyone had over-heating issues after fitting Front Grills? Any issues with ShowChrome Trunk Replacement Shock?

No on both accounts

Some of the grill covers are too fine a mesh and restrict airflow. You'll most likely get heating issues if you go with one of these.

Great for keeping debris out. But won't do you much good if your pistons are melting...

I installed a set of magnetic hypnotic concepts from Sling mods and have had no issues with over heating. When I installed the magnets I used a 90 degree drill chuck with a 3/32 drill bit to drill pilot screw holes for the added screws for the install. It was one of the first mods I did back in May and have over 2700 miles on the machine in South Ga heat with no issues. They look good and keep most bugs from making it into the radiators. My temp gauge has never been over four bars hot.

So far the replacement struts from Slingmods are holding up for me. Both the seat and trunk OEM struts died within a year or so.

Wife has grills on her 21 RT and My 23 RTL. In Arizona heat no issues.

I bought both from Slingmods and just replaced the shock with the heavy duty one about 2 weeks ago. The trunk lid wouldn't stay up anymore. The trunk now stays up when opened. As for overheating, haven't had any issues with those RT vent covers at all. I rode the Spyder twice last week in 95+ degrees here in So Calif with no issues what so ever. Ran cool.

As far as the grill covers go, when I saw how plugged the radiators were with bugs after only 10,000 miles (spent the better part of half a day blowing and picking them out) I covered mine with the finest SS screen I could buy ( think the weave was 24/in). Cut it to fit in front of the OEM ones. Even on the hottest days, it always takes at least 5 minutes for the fans to come on after I pull into the garage. While I wait, I take a brush and loosen the bugs stuck on the screen. When the fans do come on, since they are reversed, the bugs come flying out and make quite a mess. To me a plugged radiator has a better chance of causing overheating than plugged screens. You can't neglect keeping the screens clean.

I just replaced the trunk shock with a new one from Lamonster Garage-works great! The original BRP one only lasted 2 years. I now need to replace the seat shock. I will be calling Lamonster Garage.
