• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wiring help needed - Trailer turn signal lights reversed! Any ideas?

Why do I get all the oddball problems? A friend had a 2023 RTL that he bought new. I added the BRP trailer hitch kit for him. All was well. Due to other issues, he traded in on a new 2025 RTL. I removed the trailer hitch kit from the 23 and installed it on the 25. He had to buy the extra wire (p/n 219401295) that is required. Prior to the 2024 model year, BRP included the possibility of adding a trailer hitch to any RT. From 2024 up, they removed the 12v power wire from the cargo wire bundle. This additional wire that is now required is piggy-backed into the cargo interconnect harness under the pillion seat and is then only a single wire running back to the trailer harness carrying the 12v power for the trailer module. Here is the problem: everything works great except that the turn signals on the trailer are reversed. He signals for a left turn, the Spyder lights all blink for a left turn, but the trailer right turn signal blinks. He signals a right turn, the Spyder blinks on the right, the trailer blinks on the left. Not that it makes a difference, but he has a freedom trailer. I plugged in my RT-622 to his bike and it does the same thing. In comparing the 2023 and 2025 wiring diagrams, everything stayed the same except for the lack of the 12v power wire on the 25. Any ideas?

Something got swapped either in the harness manufacturing or the electronic isolator and it really does not matter. The easiest thing to do is to Just correct it at the interface between the trailer connection on the bike and the bikes adapter module. Swap the green and yellow wires. This will involve cutting the wires and re-splicing them. If you wanted to dig in further the connector between the bikes harness and the isolator should have removable pins for those wire, but to get to it you have to pull the back tail panel. Just more work.

I’m not sure if this helps but when I purchased my new Freedom trailer and BRP wiring harness, the trailers turn signals were also reversed. I removed both tail lights and reinstalled them to the correct side. It’s been a few years but I think I just removed and reversed the sockets. I didn’t cut and splice any wires.

There should be a discussion concerning this in the archives.
