• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

a great question

It would really depend upon the climate in which this island is located... :dontknow:

But if we assume that it's a tropical island:
Tarp
Pot
Knife
Matches

If it's just off the California coast: :D
The IPod
some weed
Volleyball
Sunscreen

Vacation...:2thumbs:

Knife
Rifle, assuming it has ammo
Fishing pole.
Hammock

Been on hunting trips with not much more....:roflblack::roflblack:

Gee..!!

assuming no prior knowledge....

the inflatable raft
flare gun
water purifier
knife

cell phone would be nice so I can call UBER....:roflblack:

I cannot believe you even mentioned weed.
If I'm stuck off of California's coast: I can use it as barter, when negotiating for passage home... :D

...But if we're close to the coastline: it may have already been planted on the island by some punk with a Hobie Cat! :roflblack:

For me it would be -

Hunting Knife
Matches
First aid kit
Water Purifier

Some of the other items would be nice, but may not help. Hunting Rifle - what if there is no game to shoot? Compass - on an island! I think I could find my way back by walking on the beach.

I'd take the matches tarp knife and fishing pole. Notice that there's nothing about some to hangout with. But then you would have to talk to them.

My (Serious) choices...
Tarp
Cooking Pot
Knife
Matches

Use the knife to fashion spears for fishing and hunting, and as a reflector to aid in being seen
Matches: for starting cooking and signal fires
the cooking pot: for collecting and boiling water, and for cooking whatever I killed...
The tarp: either to collect rainwater, as a sleeping shelter, or as a drag to aide in collecting firewood.

Once the Swedish Bikini Team parachutes in to resuce me: I should be fit, trim, rested, and ready to convince them to stay there with me! :ohyea:

ok here is something to think about, your in your room at home, it is pitch black in the room. you have a candle in the room but don't know where it is. and you only have one match.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO

Turn on the lights. You never said power was out.

your 100% right. i always remember a teacher we had in the apprenticeship program for my union. he said, YOU GO ON A CALL BECAUSE SOMEONE SAYS THEIR LIGHTS IN ONE ROOM ARE OUT. SO WHAT DO YOU DO FIRST. after so many answers he said, check the light switch first. is may not be on, or it could of gone bad.
