wow.
so I guess the trunk isnt THAT secure. Good to know.
But some of the security of it is that most people don't know that its there .... they think the engine is filling that space. :dontknow:
But some of the security of it is that most people don't know that its there. I have had many cases of someone being totally amazed that the Spyder has a trunk. I guess they think the engine is filling that space. :dontknow:
:agree:BJT is totaley right on this one:f_spider:The Spyder trunks security in any scenario is just a means of keeping an honest person honest. If somebody wants something in your trunk bad enough, they will get it whether they know how to access the trunk latch cable or if they just take a pry bar or 3lb. hammer to it. :sour: They wouldn't have to read about those last two methods on SpyderLovers or any other forum.
I did something very similar, with aircraft cable and a poly tube sheath. This happened after I was unable to find the correct cable in the dark (flashlight and tools locked in trunk.). That reminds me, Nancy still owes me for my two hour trip each way to fetch the spare key.I posted some months ago the idea to run a 28" length of picture hanging wire from the trunk release lever around the fuse box down to the oil tank area. Attach a small metal pull ring to the end and secure it near the oil tank. Then if keys get locked in trunk, you have an emergency release cable and don't need to try to reach up and find the trunk cable. Whatever works.
