I'm a retired truck driver.I wear Georgia Boot Company boots with the carbon fiber not steel reinforced toe. I use over boot covers in the rain as they are waterproof to a point, but not hours in heavy rain waterproof.
They cover the ankle. You can walk all day in them, hike in them, and they last my son and I about five years of almost daily wear. We swear by them. I’m pretty sure they have ladies sizes too.
I’m not keen on motorcycle specific supposedly waterproof boots as they’re not brilliant for walking in off the bike. I’ve had any number of motorcycle boots and even the supposedly top of the line BMW ones still leak eventually.
On a Spyder the Georgia Boot Company stuff is generic enough to wear on and off the bike.
And buy quality shoes. For dress shoes I bought Mephistos and they'd last a decade and still look nice. Dansko for clogs, last forever too.I'm a retired truck driver.
An old driver told me once to purchase 2 pairs of the same shoes at the same time.
Wear a pair for a week, the the other pair for a week. That way the just worn pair gets to dry out for the week.
Over the years, I purchased a lot fewer shoes thans folks that wore the same ones week in and week out!
These are the Georgia Boot Company boot's I wear.I'm an "All the Gear, All the Time" gal and I'm thinking it is time for a new pair of boots. My current pair I owned before making the switch to a Spyder, so I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions/recommendations of boots they love or hate.
I keep a roll of these in the frunk for when I’m caught out in heavy rain. They are not so silly if you put them on and pull your waterproof pant legs down over them. They are cheap and do the job.Thank you for all the replies. I'm going to stick with Motorcycle specific boots for now. I currently have a pair by Milwaukee Leather. They've worn very well, but definitely not waterproof. I'll look into the brands/models mentioned.
Keep the replies coming!
Yes, I just bought these as it doesn't rain very much here in the high deserts of the west and I can just chuck a roll of these in the frunk for the very few occasions I get caught out in a thunderstorm.^^ That's a smart idea, thanks. Tourmaster boot covers work well, too.
