Anyone add "loss prevention" to their panels?

Just curious if anyone has added something to prevent these snap-on panels from flying off?

On my Gold Wing 1500 I attached the panel to the bike with a string mounted to the panel and tied to the bike frame.

I am tempted to add a screw to this panel (where the red dot is) to keep it mounted solid. I already found it slightly hanging off once. If I use a decorative finish washer it shouldn't be too offensive to the eye.

Anyone have other ideas?

Last fall on a trip from Pa. to Tennessee, we learned a hard lesson when I watched my Brother-in-law’s side panel go skipping across 3 lanes of traffic to it’s ultimate demise. We promptly pulled out the Gorilla tape and secured our remaining panels. Over the winter, I studied how best to prevent losing any more panels. I know others have posted their approach to securing the panels so I wanted to share mine. So long as the top hook is intact on the panel, I believe this is a very discreet method of preventing lost or damaged panels.

After carefully measuring and marking the center...

Ps: While it's not exactly 'common', more than just a couple of members have reported losing one of those panels; some accidentally, others thru dealer inflicted damage &/or ineptitude, so it is probably a good idea to do something before that happens!

Yeah, the panel and grommets are in fine shape, and yes, I do know how to properly secure it. I'm just being pro-active.
