• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Can-Am Roadster – Fuel Cap Replacement

It always seems that the dealer is the last to know...
Print yourself up a copy of the bulletin and fax it to them!
And if you're not leaking (Yet!), just sit by and wait patiently! :roflblack:

does anyone know what they do about those who bought their unit USED ?
or does that just mean go to the local dealer if any ?
Dave

After you buy a Spyder used, visit a dealer and register with BRP as the new owner. Any warranty remaining (Standard and extended optional) is transferred to you. BRP will issue you a new warranty card giving you all the extras that came with Spyder (example Roadside Assistance). You will also get all the recall notices as the registered owner.

Its not only Canada/USA - Must be some European ones

Just checked mine and Yes I have the Old Type - See Photos

Have contacted my dealer for Replacement

{NOTE} - BRP Official UK Still has not posted any details ref this recall on their website

UPDATE

I e mailed both the Canada/USA & UK Official offices in order to get a replacement Fuel Cap
this has been the response so far -

Sir

Can you arrange a replacement Fuel Cap as stated in the BRP Recall safety notice

I have a Spyder RT-S SE5 2010 Model Reg RT10 SPY

Please see email response from my dealer

{Note} - I have sent this to the UK BRP Official website and the Canada/USA BRP Official website, As I don't get a response from the UK Website

Mr. Sheppard,

Thank you for your e-mail and inquiry.

Unfortunately, the recall for the fuel cap in the UK is being managed by BRP International through its UK Office and we cannot assist in responding positively to your request to send you a fuel cap. It is possible that the UK Offices are closed for the Holidays. We will send your e-mail to a colleague in the BRP International Office to follow-up on.

I trust that you understand our possition and respect that your situation will be resolved by the appropriate BRP office.

BRP North America Team

Eddie,
Look on the bright side; if it isn't leaking yet, you're still good to go!

This is exactly the attitude that pioneers used in your country to overcome all manner of difficulties including fierce hostiles and all kinds of animals who were busy getting a liking for the flesh of settlers. (Never mind that crappy wheel bearing on your covered wagon, it hasn't failed yet so you're good to go!)

But time has moved on and in the UK we have been introduced to Health and Safety, the philosophy of which is to pre-empt all manner of disastrous situations with suitable remedies ahead of time. It's a bloody nuisance I know but we are obliged to await a filler cap which doesn't endanger life and limb. Our pioneer spirit is long dead. Shame on us!
