OK HERE IS WHAT WE FOUND OUT ON THE IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM ON 2012 RT SM5 SPYDER. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A STUCK IGNITION SWITCH AND SUBSEQUENT BLOWN 15 AMP FUSE. TODAY THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A BAD IGNITION SWITCH RELAY! BOTH OF THESE RESULTED IN THE SAME FAILURE---ENGINE STALL WITHING 3 MINUTES OF RUNNING FOLLOWED BY BLOWN FUSE THAT CANNOT BE REINSTALLED BECAUSE IT WILL BLOW AGAIN. MAKE ANY SENSE TO ANYBODY????---IM LOSING TRUST IN THIS BIKE. GOING TO TRY TO CALL BRP TOMORROW TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE THAT KNOWS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE GM OF THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNAPOLOGETIC AND TRIED TO SHOVE US OFF TO SERVICE MGR THAT DOESNT KNOW ANYTHING. HIS (SM) CLASSIC LINE IS THAT HES NOT A "MECHANIC". I DONT WANT TO BE BROKE DOWN BECAUSE OF BAD SERVICE--I HAD BIKES A LOT LESS EXPENSIVE THAT NEVER BROKE DOWN. THANKS FOR LISTENING.:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
