Was talking with the mechanic at the dealer where I go about electrical issues. He had an SE that had shifting problems and some other spark gremlins. During the conversation he mentioned that the owner had installed some HID headlights. I asked if they were aftermarket or OEM. He said aftermarket. I told him he might want to disconnect them and try shifting. He said that was funny because that's exactly what the tech at BRP told him to do. He did that and the problems went away. I told him that some aftermarket HID kits have to be connected directly to the battery with a jumper harness and in line relay. For some reason, on SE models, it plays havoc with the electrical system.
