Do your research, get an anterior replacement vs a posterior. The former is MUCH less invasive, smaller incision, less swelling and bleeding, quicker recovery and easier PT. I've had 1 hip, both knees, thumb joint replaced, and ankle fused (waiting for replacement). I know of what I speak. If your surgeon doesn't offer it find another. Really trust me on this. Buy yourself a cheap exercise bike at Goodwill and set the seat at the lowest setting you can stand and ride the crap out of it. Good Luck.
