Where is it?

Laughlin is on the Colorado River in Nevada south of Vegas. It's basically where the I40 croses the Colorado river.

The River Run is an annual bike week type event, mostly Harley, but a little of everything. Lot's of vendor booths, etc...

There are some really nice day rides out of Laughlin, like Oatman on route 66, Lake Havasu, Hoover Dam, Lake Meade, Las Vegas...

There are still rooms available from what I hear..

Just don't go there in July. Last time I was there in July, it was 126*. But, it was a dry heat. :ohyea:

Hence the name...:2thumbs:
Actually, it might hit 100, but it will only feel like 98.:yikes:
A few years ago there was a big biker brawl there, but I think the local constabulary has kept a pretty tight hand on things since then.

I going to try to make it, if my puppy is doing OK and can be left with the neighbors. She's a retired racing greyhound, just turned 14 (most don't make it past 10), and the end is getting near.

Which days will you be there? I see the room rates show $18 on the 22nd and jump to 125 Thurs-sat. I may swing up for Wed nite if things work out. 330 miles each way. Nice ride... except that :cus: Phoenix thing!

Sorry to hear about your puppy.

I'm still contemplating getting a retired racer. How is she as an indoor pet?

They must be an indoor pet. They have no fat and a very thin coat. Basically, they are comfortable when you are comfortable. They make really great pets. Not so much with very small children since they are relatively fragile and roughhousing at the hands of a preschooler could cause injury. Very quiet, trainable, affectionate... really sweet dogs. Look for a greyhound rescue group, they are almost everywhere.

Thanks... that confirms what I've heard from other folks... including one other from this site.

My wife and I were both going to go Thursday-Sunday until my doctor schedule me for surgery to yank out a kidney stone. Tried to postpone until next week but he did not think it was a good idea to be on a bike for that amount of time especially on percocet.
I guess we will have to wait for Vegas Bike fest later in the year.
Hope you all have a good time. I'm bummed.

Well we are here. It's nice and warm. I had to bring 3 bikes and the Spyder so of course I pulled a trailer. The Spyders battery was too low to start it when I got here. Seems like I need to keep that thing on charge all the time when it's parked. And it has a relatively new kinetik battery.

For the last month it has been the relays...which I finally replaced...

I wish my Spyder would just start when I turn it on...like a Honda!!!!!

Show opens at 10 AM today (Wednesday).

Hope to see some of you here, we are in the Edgewater Vendor Area.

Between you, me, and my wife we're a fine bunch of gimps lately! Best wishes on your surgery. Most unpleasant things no matter which way you lose them. We'll be pulling for you.

Matt,
It was good to meet you and your crew yesterday and I will certainly be indulging in some of the products that you showed me. Good luck with the show, I had to get out of town before it got overly busy.

It was surprising that in the land of $30,000+++ custom cruisers, on several occasions as I cruised the main drag, heads would turn, fingers would point and children would hide behind their mother's dresses (maybe not the last one). The spyder sure is an attention getter.

Nice to meet you Nautibrit. Yes they all look when we ride our Spyder's down the strip in the middle of a Harley convention! But it's fun!

It's really starting to fill up now (Friday Morning).

The temps were not too bad yesterday and it's cooling down more today and tomorrow.

See U all at the show!

old man

Matt,
This was our first big rally and we had a great time! We arrived at Laughlin Wednesday and spent the weekend seeing and doing. We searched all the booths throughout the whole show, particularly around the Edgewater. We NEVER FOUND YOU and the other booth holders didn't know where you were either. Sorry we missed you. We did meet a few other Spyder owners. Spent some time talking to a young man from Vegas.
It was incredible how much response we got from the public to our Spyder. People asked lots of questions. Our friends who have a Spyder call it an old man's bike. We all love that we don't have to "hold it up". The young man from Vegas said he had two hip replacements so he was glad he didn't have to balance his Spyder.
We're from the Verde Valley and get up to Prescott every once in awhile. So far you've been closed when we've gone by. If you know of a local Spyder club, we would like to hear about it.
