• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lazer Alignmnent ?

I see alot of interest about this technology here in Michigan so I talked to a friend of mine who is a certified m/c mechanic here in Michigan. We did a little research and found out no dealers in Michigan or surrounding States have this system of alignment, so we contacted the manufacturer of the system. We may be willing to purchase the equipment and take the course from the manufacturer on operating it IF there is enough interest in Michigan.

We look at this as a long term investment not as a money making business, but they are not cheap would need to see if there are enough interested before purchase. My friend lives in Bay City and I live in Oscoda.

Here's the thing..!!

With this laser alignment system you fall under that age old saying..."if you build it they will come". If you are still in doubt get in touch with Squared away and they will come and get your spyders aligned...

I'm nowhere near Michigan but I think it's a great idea. Offer a few more services like oil and tire changes and you'll be even better off. Get a customer in the door for one thing and you'll get them to spend money on other things.

Squared Away is willing to come to Michigan to do an alignment session. If you get enough people we can schedule you for sometime in September. I believe that Firefly offered to host the event at his place.

We have done nearly 400 alignments, and experience has a lot to do with getting a good alignment.

Question?

I surely didn't mean to insult anyone that does alignments. I simply asked that if I was willing to invest the money and spend the time and energy to learn the correct way to use the equipment would people here in Michigan be interested. I didn't advertise a cost or anything I asked a question. I find it in poor taste of someone to use my thread as a means to make money on my dime. I also feel a little insulted that someone would think just because I haven't done alignments that I am not capable of doing them correctly. I felt that having the technology here in Michigan would benefit the Michigan people. I guess I was wrong and the people in Michigan can just wait for someone to come from out of State at their leisure. I think I will just buy the equipment and keep it for myself and a few Spyder friends that we know.

p.s. I am 61 yrs old and have been riding m/c since I was 12. My last 4 motorcycles have had over 80,000 on each I own 2 Honda Valkyries right now with 80,000 plus and my wife has an 08 Spyder before she got the spyder she has had over 100,000 miles riding two up and 30,000 on her own. So I really am not impressed with people posting about how many miles they ride. Its the quality of miles and the smiles that mean more to me.

Have you made any headway with this venture? I am interested.
