There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Picked up the demo this morning

I like dogs - have a male rottweiler and a male rottie-shepard. Snoopy, to answer your question in #6 I do not work for a dealership. I was just really lucky and got picked. And yes Snoopy I do like you - if I ever met you I would probably scratch you behind the ears and give you a dog biscuit.:bbq:Back to the bike. When I start up the bike it idles at between 800-900 - mine idles between 1300-1400 (2011 RT SE-5). Eco mode seems to be on crack! There are times when I start off the up shift arrow didn't show up until I was going over 30 mph. Other times I was going just over 20mph. On the way up the Cosgrove Bridge I was in 6th - dropped it down to 5th and it gave me the up arrow to go back to 6th. Also just doing 40 mph on a flat road it got me up to 6th. I usually would not go past 3rd gear doing 40 on mine. Taking corners, even without Ron's Sway Bar () it holds the road like it's on rails! I usually slow down doing corners but don't have to on this bike. And the Ultimate Comfort Seat is well named! Very nicely padded and I am dealing with it without a back rest. Now I've just done about 40 miles and I don't know how it would be after a couple of hundred but I'll see in the next week. Hubby (Tobor 9) and I will be heading to Edisto Island to eat tomorrow for lunch. Will take TooGooDo Road to get there. Has a few amusing twists and curves and it should be a semi decent workout for the bike. Will let you all know tomorrow.

I like Scooby snacks too, just sayin'

Nice review. Never knew these bikes had an upshift light, must be a RT thing. :D

just wondering

i have noticed that some of the people that are getting demos have a 2012 or older bike, could this also be a sales pitch by BRP, sorry i am a un trusting person

It makes perfect sense, John; they want to try and see if the folks with the older bikes are willing to trade up...

If it is it's an expensive way to try and get people to upgrade. BRP wants people on these 2014s. They want people talking about how there are no heat problems and the power is good. So they are seeding units out there. Not too uncommon.

The eco up light does not activate if you are in a hard acceleration. I would rather pay a little more gas than go so slow to get the up light to work.

:agree: If I could afford it, I KNOW I would be getting a 2014.

So far, all the reviews have been upbeat and positive. I think that is a good sign. I don't think we will hear much negative input from those who get to do the free test rydes.
I still want to hear how actual owners of the new :spyder2:'s feel after a couple months and 3000 to 5000 miles on them. The longer term reviews are what is going to make the new 2014.

PS. I talked with my dealer yesterday. I get the first Yellow RTS that is coming in. Likely, sometime in March. All he had on the floor yesterday were snowmobiles and his 2010 RT-S for sale.

My demo bike has 5235 miles on it right now, and the left rear saddle bag does not open without having to be hit when holding up the handle.

So, you, or the previous testers broke the saddle bag. Way to go. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Seriously, enjoy your ryde.

if i could afford it i would upgrade from my 13 to a 14 but between the bike costs and my car lease up in a couple of months it is out of the question right now

Well, didn't make it for lunch but the Hubby (Tobor 9) and I went to Edisto Island this afternoon. Took Toogoodoo Road both there and back. Nice on the twists and curves. Handles very well. Power steering seems much more responsive then on mine. I took the road to Edisto and hubby took it back. We stopped at a gas station on the way back home (didn't need gas but we both needed a cigarette!) He took his helmet off and said "Mommy, buy me 1!!!" Speaking of gas, shows 128 miles and just under 1/2 tank avail. On mine it would have been showing the I'm thirsty symbol at about 120 miles. Do like this bike. Wish I could afford to trade. Oh well, better start playing the lotto!!! He will be posting his impressions of the bike later.

All I can say after my ryde today is I WANT ONE! This RT-S is Smooth in every way, acceleration ,cornering, braking it is just a joy to ryde. We have been riding it in Eco mode to learn the shift points and it has you shifting up to 6th almost from the minuet you start moving and stays there unless you come to a stop, then downshifts just as quick and all shifts are smooth and quit. We will have to try it with Eco off and see the difference but Eco does not limit your acceloration at all,I goosed it on a clear area and it accelerated quick and smooth and I think would be fine passing a truck even without downshifting. So far I love this new RT-S and wish I could afford to triad my 2011 RS. I'll be riding the demo on days Sofia works so we both put miles and smiles on it.

:congrats: on talking her into allowing you some time in the saddle!
Time to start polishing up that Christmas List...

:D
Glad to hear that it's a winner!

So far, its great to see that any "glitches" have been small and insignificant. A sticky saddlebag switch should be an easy fix.
