• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Seat tears

Has any one had a problem with a Beadrider causing the front seat stitching to coming apart?
It seems on mine that the front edge of the Beadrider sits over the front seam. I can only move it back so far.

I had a stitching problem on my RT Ltd seat as shown below but it was a seat defect, not caused by the BeadRider.
BRP was going to replace the seat but I had it repaired locally.

There's another member who has had to replace the stitching three times. It seems the stitching keeps coming undone on the front part of his seat. To best describe the location it is where BRP put the PE # for the 2010 RT-S Premier Edition when they first came out.

The BEST warranty does not cover the seat. My dealer wanted $400 for a seat off another RT.

I'm picking one up this Friday I got thru eBay for $65! Saved on shipping that way.
Bumblebee67 gave me a heads up on the seat as she did for a few others where I was not quick enough to bid or the free shipping turned out not to be so.

So cjackg, where did you get your's fixed? That might be a viable thing to get mine fixed for a back up? TN is close to GA....like next door!

I had mine repaired at a speciality upholstery place called Advanced Headliner & Carpets near Cleveland TN. They not only did the stitching fix but repadded the oem RT seat to create a dished feel, then added softer padding and added padding in the Utopia backrest, all for $125. They are good people to work with.

For any local area Spyder owners, I want to also mention that Ooltewah Tire & Wheel near McDonald TN does Spyder tire mounting & balancing for $10 a wheel and does a great job! I found this after checking a lot of different places and hearing prices of $20 a wheel for the few that would even touch it.

I'm currently working on my third seat (2011 RT-AC I bought new in March 2012). My original seat started coming apart around 1600 miles and it was replaced under warranty with no problems. That seat started coming apart a couple of months ago and it was replaced under warranty the other day. I'm hoping to get an Ultimate seat for it before this one starts coming apart.

If you're going to get a new seat

Take a look at the Diamond seats. I've had 3 (on different bikes) and really like them.

There have been a few posts about seats coming apart at the seams. Unless abused, IMO, the seat should be covered under warranty if you want it replaced. Since I did not like the OEM seats on any of my :spyder2:,s, they have all been replaced with either aftermarket seats, or the BRP comfort seats. I have two of each and have had no problems with the stitching coming apart on my replacement seats.

I have had a beadrider on my seats (2010 RT & 2012 RT LTD) for three years with no problems so I think its
the fundamental problem of some seats , not the bead rider
