There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Update on Limp Mode/DPS/Check Engine

Approximately one week before Spyderfest, I started having problems with my spyder. I've mentioned the issues in previous threads. Basically, my spyder was going into limp mode with the usual turn the key off, back on again and all was well. (for awhile)

I had taken my spyder to my dealer (Seminole Power Sports of Sanford, Florida) and they busted their tails to get me running, i.e., they installed a new DPS and other parts from show room floor spyders. All was done in an attempt to get me to Spyderfest. Unfortunately it was a day late and a dollar short and I missed it.

Subsequently, the issues arose again and I sent my spyder back to the shop. My dealer in collaboration with BRP determined that I needed a new wiring harness and probably some other things which I'm not aware. It took about two weeks for the harness to come in and it has now been almost ten days that have passed, and still no spyder.

I went today to check the status and was promised that it would be completed by Tuesday of next week. I explained that I was becoming a bit anxious in that I had reservations for Maggie Valley.

Bottom line is that I was told not to worry about Maggie Valley in that if my spyder was not ready after both their testing and mine, to make sure all problems were fixed, that they would provide me with a spyder from their show room floor to use at Maggie Valley.
Needless to say I was not only absolutely astounded by the offer, but it also made me think and be grateful for what a good dealership I have.

I'm one that likes to pass on good things when they occur. :2thumbs:

That is an outstanding dealer, and I am very glad to hear they are going to take care of you like that. Hopefully you will be on your own Spyder, without any mechanical issues, when I see you in Maggie Valley. :2thumbs:

Very pleased that you too have such a wonderful dealership to work with. Love reading this kind of stuff... :2thumbs::doorag::spyder2:

FINAL UPDATE

I won't go into what has previously happened. See beginning thread. I was supposed to get my spyder (RT-S) a week ago from this past Tuesday, but received it today. I might add that my dealer assured me that if I did not get my spyder prior to Saturday, June 11th, that BRP had okayed the dealer allowing me to use a show room RT. I would assume that BRP's okay was necessary in that there may be title or even consignment issues. Bottom line is that they were ready to come forward and allow me a spyder for Maggie Valley

I received my spyder today. The dealer tech, again in collaboration with the BRP tech, was able to assemble the wiring harness (the one that extends along the spyder to the back). I might mention that the BRP tech stated that the only time he had ever done this was when he was in training school. He also said that to his knowledge this was the first time that this wiring harness was an issue with the RT-S. It is my understanding that this harness comes installed or wired when it arrives at the dealership as a new spyder. Consequently, it took my tech awhile to get everything assembled in order. He rode my spyder most of yesterday afternoon without having any of the problems surface that I described in the beginning of this thread.

I will ride, especially in Maggie Valley, a lot before giving my final observation. However, I do want to thank my tech, my dealership, Seminole Power Sports of Sanford, Florida AND BRP for all their efforts. BRP did not have to agree to a "loaner" for lack of a better term. However, they did. This obviously reduced a lot of anxiety that I had reference my trip. I knew that I would be in Maggie Valley one way or the other.

I just hope that those people who happen upon this forum in search for information regarding that funny little machine with the two wheels in front read the positive things that happen when "glitches" occur. I for one am thankful for the good dealership that I have and wish that everyone on this forum had the same.

Cindy and I will see ya'll in Maggie Valley.

It's nice to hear that there are dealers and BRP that will go the extra yard for their customers. I have a great dealer hope I don't have to find out like you did.

Hey Chris

I am glad to hear that you're finally back in business. Connie and I look forward to seeing Cindy and you again. We picked up some literature that I think will come in handy for you all if you still plan to do that trip that you told us about. Have a safe trip and if you have a problem and need us, just call.

I've run my spyder almost 400 miles since my dealer gave it back to me. It has passed with flying colors. Looks like the wiring harness was the culprit. See ya'll in Maggie Valley tomorrow.

It was great seeing you again Mike. I'm closing out this thread only to say that my "issue" has been solved thanks to BRP, my dealer, Seminole Power Sports in Sanford, Florida. I've been almost 1,000 trouble free miles now.

It was great to see you and your wife again as well. I am very happy that you were able to make it to the Owner's Event, and to hear your Spyder is running much better now.
