• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is your experience with the INNOVV N1 Dashcam?

After being involved in two accidents involving other drivers over the last couple of years and I was recently harassed by a cage on the highway when he tried multiple times to run me off the road when I went to pass in the left lane. I finally decided that a dashcam is a necessity as other riders have found out.

I am getting ready to order the INNOVV N1 and I was wondering how other peoples experiences are with it before I order one.

I was wanting android auto and this unit has it built in and can supposedly connect wirelessly to my phone.

I chose the H5 over the N1 and I received it just a couple of days ago. I haven't mounted it yet as it's a bit cold to start riding. Yeah I know I'm a wuss. I have an inexpensive camera mounted on my windshield but it doesn't record peripheral vision activity that suddenly occurs which can lead to an accident. 99% of the time I'm looking at and avoiding a potential encounter while my fixed camera is not recording it. That's the main reason I went helmet mounted. Yes, you can use your phone to monitor the camera in real time. Load the app. Be sure to check out the videos INNOV has on their web site of all their camera setups and recordings. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Have not used the N1 but I have used the K3 and presently use the K5 on the Spyder. Have a K6 on a ADV160. They have been good units and take the weather well. I also use the H5.

Are you looking at the base or the Pro? They look interesting.

Pro for the bigger screen and Bluetooth 5.2, at the website they have 15 % off for "subscribing".

I have seen a couple of youtube reviews and they seem positive.

I have one mounted front and rear on my F3L. It’s there if I need it... cheap insurance.

I think I may be passing on this one, after reading some more reviews apparently the firmware has a lot of issues even after updating and support is not great from innovv. I'll do a pass on this and go with a K7. A lot better reviews on that one. I'll just stick with my phone for apps and music.

JMHO, not everything that's looking to get you, happens directly in front or behind you. A couple of months ago I, watched a TC occur in a roundabout right next to me and my fixed forward mounted camera saw none of the accident. If I'd had my helmet camera at the time I'd have recorded it all. Years ago, I watched a dump truck hit a Volkswagon at a 4 way stop. Again if I had a helmet cam I would've recorded it all. I'm just saying, that a helmet cam is a more versatile tool than a solid mounted camera. But, whichever way you choose to go, I'd recommend a camera of some kind. Another advantage is, that you can easily take a helmet cam off and mount it in your car.

We have two of the N1 Pro's. I've used the K2 and The K5 dashcams for years and find the Innovv products to be very reliable. The N1 Pro does not have any firmware issues. It is still on the initial firmware; there have been no updates. The previous version, the N1, has had firmware updates. We use the Android Auto functions of the N1 Pro, and so far, the only thing that gets in the way is if you forget to unlock your phone before you start out. If you will be traveling to remote or mountainous areas, it's a good idea to download the maps ahead of time for when there is no cell service. The N1 Pro does not have a built-in GPS; it uses your phone for location.

Does the phone have to remain unlocked after you connect?

As far as I'm aware (and I'm happy to be proven wrong by someone who knows more than I), a phone must be connected to units like the N1 Pro, Carpuride etc via Apple Carplay /Android Auto because it's the phone itself that does the heavy lifting with all navigation (not just supplying maps) etc... not the add-on unit. All the add-on does is communicate with the phone using the AC/AA interface and allow inputs to control navigation & music apps etc running on the phone. Camera recording & real-time imaging is done directly through the add-on unit, but that's all.

Apart from dashcam functionality, you're just paying for a touch screen, some comms software & a power supply.... that's all.

Again, I'm happy to be corrected :)

I just think I am going to stick with a "Basic" Dashcam, I would lean more toward a Sena Model if I was going with a helmet cam but I want to have the parking monitor that is offered with several models of the onboard dashcams. I'm not going to be vlogging with this and just need something that can capture plate info if something happens.

The N1 looks appealing , but I also need to get a new battery as the one in my F3 is over 5 years old and I don't feel comfortable going out on my longer rides with a battery of that age. So a more basic dashcam will let me have some cash to go toward the battery.

What The Mariner said above is correct. Your phone does the heavy work. It's similar to the procedure used by the old, unreliable BRP Connect. You must unlock the phone before starting with Android Auto.

For Clover Hill, pm me if you are interested in a used Innovv K5 dashcam system. I can make you a great deal. Not ready to list it here yet...

I understand about the phone doing the work , which is why I am staying with using my phone as I am getting ready to update myself with a new one as my phone is over 3 years old now and needs security updates in a big way plus I need to get one with NFC on it so I don't have to worry about digging out my credit card while I am out and about. After thinking about it , I don't want to have to worry about a link between the two for the N1 for android auto, it just another chance for Murphy's law to kick in. And I have my phone on a center mount tackform from Dave and have been good with it so far except in the rain which drove the touchscreen crazy on my moto 2022 g power. I'll contact you on pm about the K5.

I bought their TPMS kit for 3 wheelers. The phone app was terrible (I am an IT Contractor) and wasn't impressed with the tech support at all - I felt the owner of Innov was being given the run around by the App developers. I had been giving serious consideration to buying their cameras but went with a different brand (Thinkware ATV cameras). They lasted about 6 months before both cameras filled with water.

I ordered the K7. I read up about the issue with the apps, but so long as I can get in, get it setup to record a loop, and it's a decent enough picture to capture license plates is all I care about.

But with the weather the way it is, it may still be several more weeks before I get to try it out on the road. At least I'll have enough time to set it up in the garage and get it installed before then. I am also an old IT contractor here myself, of over twenty years, and 10 years prior to that I was a Physical Engineer for the Va. Hospital Center where I cared for the physical plant there. I am getting ready to retire next year and finally take some time off for a nice long ride which will take me out to the Deadwood 3 Wheel Rally next year.

I have had the H1 PRO on my F3T since early last year. I am very satisfied with it. The screen is big and readable enough even in bright sunlight.
The tire pressure monitor only has two sensors so I mounted them on the front tires.
I bought one for my wife's Ryker this past Christmas. I haven't had any problems with it, and I have a four-year-old phone;)View attachment 211744
