• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which part is responsible for turning the radiator fan on and off?

Which part turns the radiator fan on and off? I know the thermostat releases the water, but who turns the fan on?

Does anyone know where the engine temperature sensor is located that activates the radiator fan? Spyder RT 2011

From the Service Manual:
coolant temperature sensor.jpg

As was stated, the sensor is connected to the ECM and the ECM operates the fan relay.

In case you wonder: the temperature sensor turns the fans on at 101 Celsius and off at 97 Celsius. The thermostat (which has nothing to do with the fans running or not, located in the water pump) opens at 80 Celsius and is fully open at 94 Celsius, meaning the (lower) hose that goes to the radiators gets hot when the motor reaches 80 Celsius.

The ECM turns the fan on and off, not the coolant temperature sensor.

This question should have been asked: What symptom are you experiencing? Overheating? Fan not running? Fan always running? Fan running more often than usual? What does your temperature gauge show?
