• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is the most reasonable way to get a 2nd key?

What year:spyder2::dontknow: 13& prior chip can be cloned, 14up :popcorn:dealer.
As understand the new keys are pre programmed & dealer has procedures to get spyder to recognize as functional. Only so many allowed in memory. Will need working key to start process. Older link for clone key , most lock smiths should be able to do actual cloning of chip :

My dealer's price was only $4.00 more than online prices, so I bought 2 from my dealer. The dealer's service department programmed them for free which took all of about ten minutes.

Buy a BRP key online, have a locksmith cut it, and find someone with BUDS to program it into the DESS. The dealer can do it all for you except maybe the cutting. BUDS is absolutely necessary. So in short, your options are very limited.

Find someone with BUDS and turn off the DESS nightmare and get a key made anywhere for a couple of bucks.

Are you saying in essence that you got only one key when you purchased your Spyder? Or was it a private sale in which the previous owner had only one key? If the former, the dealership owes you a key at ZERO charge to you, even if you have to ride to collect it.

Bought it used. Only have one key, and some kind of rubber key in a sleeve type holder.
