• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

That is nice to know. Thanks. On my week long trip from middle Tennessee to Pittsburgh, PA, I found out rolling off on the throttle did not cancel the cruise control. I was surprised since three of my other bikes that have cruise control work that way.

Same...

Mine doesn't work that way, either. I have to tap on the brake to cancel the cruise control setting. Not a biggie for me.

My 2015 RT-S had the foam grip covers on. I believe they were “Grip Puppies” brand. I could feel the heat through them on Low and High. I took them off because they made the grips too large. They were uncomfortable.
Just goes to show the difference in people. I've got them on mine and they made all the difference in the world as far as comfort. I found the OE's too small and my hands cramped up. They still do now but not as fast LOL.

Ditto, I leave mine on all the time so I don't bother with the switch other than to set it. Only thing I don't like is if you don't give it some throttle while hitting the brake I slow down too abruptly.

I was thinking of taking apart the switch on the left side that’s on the back that’s for the phone stuff and using that switch as I use a Cardo for all that stuff anyway

Just got back Saturday from the Lake Of The Ozarks Bikefest, and will be heading off for a 750 mile two day ride to Copper Falls in the Upper Michigan UP. Have to take advantage of 70°s mid September weather when you can, as snow flakes can also happen up there this time of year.

That may require some microsurgery...

Or you could tap into the canbus, but that might be even more difficult.

I wear gloves size between a small and medium. On the new to me Spyder the fat grips didn’t give me a warm fuzzy when it comes to control. I figure that after a few more thousand miles on it, I won’t feel uncomfortable with foam grip covers, which I removed carefully.

Same 'few more thousand miles on it' thing goes for the operation of the cruise control. Applying a bit of throttle before tapping the brake will work. Throttle by wire is a bit different on the cruise control function too. The throttle returns to closed position when it is set. It is a lot of fun to ride.

Today I named my Spyder "speedy tripod"... for all my radio/antenna experiments. The top ram arm releases quickly for access to the trunk.

Also: added me some custom shifter traction control 😂

So today I got to the spark plugs. What an interesting adventure. I’d attach a picture except my photos are too large to post. Not certain if I can reduce the size on my iPhone. Is it normal for that foam sound barrier to break down into a sticky falling apart mess?

Don't know if it is normal or not, but there are others that have posted the same thing about the sound proofing breaking down into a sticky mess.
It seems to be a regular thing.

Thanks. I am not very proficient with searches on here yet, or finding specific threads/sub-forum topics. I’m working on reducing picture sizes too.

My 2015 F3S has done the same thing. That foam is a gooey mess. So far I try not to touch it, but eventually I'll replace it with some foil-faced insulation that should hold up better.

In addition to the "Grip Puppies" foam grip covers, there are also lace on leather grip covers. Wally World has them.

Most any leather shop or individual who does leather work can make you a set of the lace on covers in different thicknesses of leather to adjust the fit and feel to exactly what you need.

Installed a battery monitor for my auxiliary battery. No more guessing when to connect a battery tender!

It was after I gave it its first wash. So much for extra waterproofing and avoiding sensitive areas...
