I down loaded the update while the bike was not running with my small charger hooked up. It down loaded OK but the "Install Update" box was grayed out. I shut the ignition off as the battery terminal voltage was 11.9 and left it on the charger for an hour. Came back and tried the update again and it was grayed out still. Started the bike and it finally allowed me to perform the upgrade. No surprises other than it did change the audio output to speakers vs. headset that I always use.

If you don't use the USB A port for data, or perhaps Bluetooth connections, you might be OK.

The problem with the display going dark might be extremely dangerous, so at some time you might have to bite the bullet, put the wooden hammer away, and take it to the dealer.

Whole reason I bought a 2024 was for ACP since I moved cross country and the navigation is a huge bonus for me. It's not so much as it goes black, but if freezes up. No speedometer, no odometer, no gear indicator, etc. Losing ACP is secondary although still highly annoying. I then either have to pull over, shut down bike, restart and hope it works the next time or continuing riding for 20 minutes at which point it usually crashes and reboots the head unit.

The few updates I have gotten to work before it seemed to require the engine to be running to have sufficient voltage. Which I'm fine with, but I can't get past the "no update found", even with the engine running. I am still thinking they are slow rolling the update just in case there's any issues they don't brick everyone at nearly the same time. I will just keep checking every day for a week or two and if it still doesn't show up I'll think about going to dealer. I'd almost rather just deal with it until I *have* to take it in, like for a new tire or something.

Also, contacting Can-Am is pointless. I wrote to see if they can confirm that the update is being rolled out in stages.
First they said just take it to dealer. Then 2nd email they said my VIN isn't part of the recall. But when I go to Can-Am's VIN recall checker page and input my VIN, the recall notice shows up as expected. Sigh.

It did that to me with the bike on the Battery Tender. I even checked the battery voltage before I started and everything was fine.

So, I turned the bike off, took the key out and away from the bike and left it for a couple of hours while I went and got my COVID and Flu shots.

Came back, turned it on and everything completed just fine.
