NEW oil leak 2016 RT - anyone recognize it/know what it is from?

What year and model? Bear in mind the bottom of most Spyders is a series of panels, where it appears to be leaking from may well be a long way away from where the actual leak is.

The best approach in my mind is to take off all the bodywork/Tupperware and start looking in places with a flash light. I'd start looking at where sensors plug into the engine, oil line connections, evap canisters, etc. depending upon the year and model.

Assuming your oil filler cap is on properly and your oil filter is hand tight, I'd look to see if your evap canister which is part of the emission control system isn't full up with oil. The sensors that plug into the block, o-ring seals, all the usual things you would check on a car.

Did it have a recent oil change, where oil can get on the top of the underbelly tupperware, and later continue to drip out?

Did have a recent oil change, or didn't have a recent oil change?

If it DID have a recent oil change:

1. Go through the proper procedure for measuring the oil level to make sure they didn't overfill it. There is a procedure as it's a dry sump engine.

2. Make sure it's not leaking from the oil filter in case the housing wasn't seated or tightened correctly.

3. Take it back to the place that did the oil change and make sure they just didn't spill oil everywhere when they filled it.

If it DIDN'T have a recent oil change, take the plastics off and start looking for a source of the leak with a flashlight. If it's enough oil to run over a bottom panel and leak onto the floor, the leak should be obvious enough.

Oh, heck check your oil filter cap!! The trouble with the RT is that with the engine wrapped up like a cocoon a drop of oil down in the belly pan will go anywhere. Like said above, if it keeps on dripping you are going to have to open that side of the bike and do a little snooping around! If nothing else you'll be able to give it a good cleaning!

Right after I bought my F3 I thought I had bought a leaker, nope, it was the filler/dipstick cap. Mines got a bit of a tight spot before it's actually tight which made me assume it was tight when it wasn't.
