• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I pulled of my backrest today and tried to remove the base of the back so that I can remove the original seat. The problem is that I cannot get the back rack base or the seat off. I pulled the splash guard from under the back and removed the four bolts from inside the back rack but I cannot get the piece off. Any suggestions?

Removal of the seat

It's a Bitc# to get off you will need a 3/8 rachet and the allen wrech of the correct size and plenty of plenty of musceles they must put them on with an impact wrench at the factory.
You wil then be ble to remove the seat.... Good luck
Dave

Thought I had found it, was wrong. still struggling...................:banghead:

If memory serves..!!

You remove the two screws under the rack and remove that cover plate. Remove the four allens at the bottom of the rack. This should allow the removal of the rack. There is one bolt now that goes thru to the bottom so you need to remove the splash guard to get to the nut. Then release the tension shock from the seat and the other bolts holding the hinge plate. Should do it..good luck:thumbup:

Otter,
Are you replacing the OEM seat with the BRP Comfort Seat, or did you find a different option?
Sorry... I've got nothing for the mechanical part of this one! :opps:

So I do remove the one nut underneath. I got the four allen wrench bolts out and could not get the rack off. I just want to get the :cus: seat off so I can put on the new one :banghead:. Guess I will tinker with it later.
