There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Accessory Insurance?

Jeriatric

Thinks out loud
Checked with my agent and State Farm does not offer accessory insurance. Not good. Many of us have far to much invested to not have it. IMO. Been with State Farm for 50 years but if they won't take the risk, I'm not about to. I see from posts here that Progressive offers Acc. insurance. Does anyone know if they have a max dollar limit on accessories?

Looks like the Spyder is destined to be insured by someone other than SF.

I have progressive and $5000 accessory coverage, break down on cost just says included.

Not sure if you can increase above 5k, this includes trailer and anything else attached to the Spyder.

Not sure if they would class the Garmin 660 which came installed as part of the Limited, an accessory or part of the bike?

anyway very please with progressive.

We have American National Property & Casualty (ANPAC) and an excellent agent. He always makes sure we are completely covered, accessory insurance, gap insurance and all. Good luck switching, it's best you know those things now and not after something happens!

I also have insurance for the Spyder thru Progressive. But you can get more than 5k on accessories. I got 10k for $105 a year added to the base policy:clap:. I figured I had that much in the trailer and the chrome, lol. After this past year of mods, I think I need to see if I can bump it up. :roflblack:

American Modern Home insurance issues the policies with $3000 worh of accessory coverage... You can bump it up to pretty much whatever amount that you need.
(Just raised mine to 5K...)

I just talked to my State Farm agent and he said my accessories are covered under the following circumstances. The accessories are permanently mounted or locked. For example: the CB radio, XM radio, ungraded wheels, and HMT brake light would be considered permantely mounted. He said the GPS would be covered if it was locked in the trunk or was locked in the cradle (touratech locking mount). I would also have to produce the original receipts and that's the amount they would pay, not today's replacement price. That I can live with.

Thanks to all who responded  Stevedfive, sounds like I need to dig a little deeper. Not to fault my agent but he's getting up there.....ya know, and he won't let go of the reins.

I have the same but doubled the amount $7000. total

 The 35 is standard, n/c, I never put more than a couple hundred in accessories in any bike i've owned.
So 35 is over kill for me, On my Spyder i just added 18 dollar fog lights, 2 hundred dollar risers, And about 4 or 5 hundred dollars in Windshields, But reading some of the things over the years that some people added to their Spyders i can see why 35 is low.
