• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bob D. I have a question....

It has to do with me and my spyder, and parking. It also has to do with the interpretation of a Federal Act. I want to get your opinion of my interpretation, and would like to handle this thru a p.m.

Thanks

I really don't like sending p.m.'s without permission; especially this one.

I'm in....

OP a spyder, parking and a federal act...sounds interesting 🤔🤔 I'm not parking anywhere till I hear back from ya'll...:roflblack:

I'm dying to comment but have to wait to see what it's all about--if we get to find out. :bbq::bbq::bbq::bbq:

Have to say, that was a really strange post. ;)

Almost as bad as the 2-word posts that frequent the forum that simply say, "PM sent". I've never understood why anyone would post that. The one who gets the PM KNOWS they got a PM, without reading about it in the open forum. ...and nobody else cares.

Not sure why anyone would object to receiving a PM, as long as they are reading the forum anyway - unless it's spam or a solicitation, which are both a violation of forum rules. :dontknow:

JMO, and I just had to offer it. Apologize for being a bit anal about it.

RE: PM sent

Just lets the person and others know that the item has been noted and taken care of. Sometimes, the matter is to personal for the site to view--so we let the person know that help is on the way.

I usually use this method when discussing price points for items for sale--if I feel I can be helpful in any way.

Patti, this is SWAG but it may have to do with a Federal Act / Law related to Motorcycle parking in signed area's. ( possibly including Handicapped ????? )........... Mike
Mike, I've always gone by the assumption that no one should park a motorcycle in a restricted area, including a handicapped parking spot, unless they have the legal right to do so. If a handicapped Spyder rider parks in a handicapped parking space and gets ticketed because he doesn't have his parking placard with him, wouldn't the charges normally be dropped?

Otherwise, shouldn't any motorcycle rider who parks in a restricted area rightfully be subject to the same standard as the driver of an automobile? Just asking your opinion as a LEO.

Rob I agree with what you've said ...... but Patti asked and I took a SWAG ..... we may never know :dontknow: .....PS in all my years I've never seen a MTC. License plate that was designated as Handi-capped unlike for veh's.... and the re-movable cards are a problem for Motorcyclists !!!! :banghead: ....... Mike

There are options in the settings for the member to opt not to receive email notifications, and to not have popup notifications. If a member has chosen both of those options they will not automatically know they have received a PM. I would guess that the likelihood of anyone choosing both those options is small, but they are there and probably a few have chosen them.

Handicapped Plate

Husband has a handicapped plate for his Indian. Once you get the paperwork signed by doctor and notarized, Texas allows:
  • Two hang tag placards
  • Two handicapped plates
  • One of each

So, we have a hang tag in our truck and elected to put a plate on the Indian .... so, YES, they DO exist!nojoke

All the best .... Ann

Available in Alaska for an extra $100. The first car plate is now free and permanent for HC. I use the removable tag on my :ani29: and so far have not had one stolen. I have it in a plastic bag and clamp it to the windshield when needed.

I hang mine in the LidLox..
. The Tag 001.jpg
I punched a hole through it, and mounted a keyring.... :2thumbs:
It would be really tough to swipe, and I can still use it whenever we go somewhere in the cage...
