There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I know that dealers don't even like to talk about kbb trade in prices. I got a trade in quote for my 2014 RT with lots of extras and 20 months of warranty left. They said that they would only allow $11,000 because it is a manual. Before doing that, I would sell it to an individual for the trade in price, just to pass on a good deal.

$6K is a very lowball price. That is ballpark for a 2008 SM5--not a 2011. There is currently a 2008 SM5 being advertised for sale, and last I saw, it was not moving at the $7K asking price. I would suggest other dealers to talk new bike with. Many dealers are going to lowball you so that can make at least a couple thousand--but this one is beyond lowball. :thumbup:

I think 6K is low too... But maybe 8K is fair.
I have a friend that in late 2013 traded in his 2010 RT for a new 2014 RT.
He got 10K for the 2010. That was in late 2013. So just a point of reference.
One thing for sure.... The 1330 models put a big hit on the value of the 998 RTs.

There are some very fair dealers out there but you may have to shop around. I received a low quote on a trade, and with another dealer site unseen, received a very favorable quote. Also saved roughly another 1000 on the tax value.

I actually got my trade in quote from them. They gave me a quote on both the RT and the RSS. The quote on the RT was way lower than I expected, but the price offered on the RSS was really good. If I was to make the move, I would just sell the RT outright, but their offer on the RSS was nice enough that I would possibly advertise it for one week, and then trade it. My reason for advertising at all is so that I could give someone on a fixed budget a chance to get into the sport without paying too much.
I will say, they were good people to talk to, very respectful, and you have to admire that.

I have not taken delivery yet, but I have an agreed upon sales order for a trade. I am getting $8000 for a trade in for my 2011 RT SM5 towards a 2016 RTS Special. They are also including $200 on a "Loyalty Rewards Card"( that will be good on parts, accessories or clothing) and I insisted they do a laser alignment. This dealership has the equipment but does not automatically do it at the time of assembly.

I traded my 2011 SE5 w/24000 mi for a demo 2016 RTS last August. A dealer NY offered more than what I paid for it 21/2 years ago.
I traded with my local dealer for almost even money $14,000. Sounds like your dealer is trying to steal it.

Ouch x 2. I am thinking my 2014 SE6 is worth about 15K. Discount about $1,000 for manual. The above price leaves a $3,000 gap. I would recommend to shop around a bit more. :yes:

I got an appraisal earlier this year on our 2010 RT, started at $9000 but the final number was $10,200. I was looking at a new unit so not sure if that had any part of the pricing. Vtwin or not, $6,000 is a very low number for 2011. There's not a lot of used Spyders on the market that I've seen and my dealer said they hold their value pretty good. It is harder to find a used 1330 than a Vtwin but it's slim picking even for them.
