• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Remembering....

:agree: they did, they do and they will always keep us free.... Remember those that did, thank those that do and teach those that will......:firstplace:

They died so that we don't have to. :pray::pray:

Even the ones that live, die a little while protecting our great nation.

Always remember our Military. :bowdown::bowdown:

Don't say "Happy Memorial Day" . . . rather, say "Remember Memorial Day!"

Or "Honor Memorial Day!"

My Pa and I decorated the graves of our family members this morning, before the rain started. My bro didn't go because his kids weren't interested. I guess when he and I are gone, no one will bother with our graves. :lecturef_smilie: Oh well, I'll probably leave my riches :roflblack: to my dog anyway!!

:agree: Respect the Day and never forget what it is all about.

The scary part for me is when you look at the crowds that attend the services--there are very few of the next generations there.

What is it going to be like twenty years in the future?

The purpose of Memorial Day is to honor those military personnel who gave their lives for our country . . . it isn't about picnics, days off, or the start of summer. It is about remembering those who died for our freedoms . . .

Author Lynn Scott suggests an idea that I will adopt this year, and every Memorial Day for the rest of my life . . . and I ask each of you to do the same. She presents the idea in her blog, much more succinctly than this old sergeant can do . . . read it here:
http://lynnescottauthor.com/2011/05/27/speak-his-name-on-memorial-day/

Please don't thank me for my service, today, or wish me a "Happy Memorial Day" but rather, remember . . . remember those gone too soon, who wore the uniform and did their part to keep our nation free. Take a moment to remember . . . to speak the names of those you know who sacrificed their lives for us . . .

If you don't know anyone from your life who died in the service of our nation, you can do as Author Scott suggests in her blog, and pick a name from "the wall" or some other source, or, you are welcome to speak the names of my Titan II PTS brothers who died doing what the small group of men and women who fueled the Titan II Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles during the Cold War did almost every day . . . the three names below are the names I will speak, this morning, and every Memorial Day until I am gone . . . they were my brothers in life, and will always be in my heart . . . feel free to speak their names , and remember three young men, gone long before their time
