• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

what a shame

The Law Enforcement folks had no choice... You don't have the luxury of time, to ask if it's real...
I feel bad; but this is exactly what should have been expected. :gaah:

I guy pulled a similar stunt shouldering an RPG and pointing it at passing cars. He got lucky and ended up with serious trouble with the law is all. Unfortunately, this kid wasn't as lucky. :(

I feel sorry for all involved, The boys parents because they lost a child, The officers because they now know that this was not a real gun and they had to take a childs life, the family of the officers involved because this situation never rests easy on anyones mind or heart. Tragic day for all involved.

I also noticed that the "TOY GUN" did not have the bright orange tip as required by law and that the boy had another toy gun in his waistband!!!

Every kid I ever played with, including myself, would be dead today if playing with a toy gun had been a problem.

It's the culture we live in and have allowed to take root, that killed this kid.

This country has gone to hell in a handbasket because of its passiveness.

toy

when i was young i had a 22 bolt action rifle, about 3 blocks from the house is the long island sound, it is a salt water river and at low tide we would go down there with our rifles and shoot the big rats. we would walk through the streets with our guns and as long as we had the bolts open the cops never bother us, but today if a cop see's you with a gun case near hunting season you are questioned. boy have times changed

Remember pop guns and cap guns? And , of course, the Red Ryder BB rifle. Have to agree with Jerbear.

sleeping

i have always been a bad sleeper, i live off of very lil sleep than like once a month i crash, that being said, about this story i feel you had a 13 year old kid with a realistic toy gun and police yelling with guns drawn at him to drop the gun and get on the ground, and with total confusion and fear the poor kid froze and the police opened fire. i also feel they could of tazed him but police today want to stay alive and go home to their family's at night so i don't thing they should be held responsible for their actions. unless other info comes out on the matter where the police could of handled it differently than i stand on the police side.

:agree: They did what they felt was necessary to end what was thought to be a life-threatening situation...
It's unfortunate, that it was what it was...

Unfortunate, but what is the best thing to do?Gun ban? Vote? Majority rules in this country, only if we like the result, if not others will revel and becomes a sour losers.:banghead: What a shame really?:(:( What about all innocent school children killed in the past and nothing was done. What shame really?:(:(Majority rules.
