• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Today I removed the factory fuel and temp gauges so the display would then move to the cluster. I then installed an oil pressure gauge and a battery voltage gauge in the spaces left by removing the analogue gauges. I used 4 mm bullet connectors and a couple spade connectors to plug them into the factory harness. No splicing needed. I can revert back to factory whenever. I have a video of it, but I can’t seem to be able to figure out how to load that.
The last pic is with the engine running showing the close LED light match to the cluster.

Very nice.

I changed the oil/filter, & Oil rings on the oil filter, oil dip stick, put in 4 + quarts ( a partial of another quart) used Valvoline 4 stroke Motorcycle Full synthetic 10W-40. This oil is has wet Clutch protection. I have been using this oil for a long time. ( used this oil when I had my 2014 RTS-SE6 Spyder SOLD).

It is also a battery maintainer until next year's motorcycle riding season.

Got a small group together on Saturday for a "ride for food". Did about 220 miles on a trip that would normally be about 110 miles. But that is what motorcyclists do. Went by Southern Supreme for some free fruitcake samples and then over to Siler City to Johnsons Hamburgers. Since they were so full we decided to keep going over to Burlington and ate at Harbor Inn Seafood. Got there at 2pm, when they opened. Did take them through some twisty roads on the way and gave them a little place to spread their wings and get a little crazy. This was probably our last big outing for a while, since it will be getting dark by 5:15 soon.

Went out today to check to see if my 2024 RTL had survived the DST/STD time shift. It was off by an hour but I noticed the time zone was 5 instead of 6 and the date was correct, and of course, this was after it had connected to Wi-Fi. Then it was time to air up my tires due to the colder weather, as they had been slightly low last time I rode her, also the FOBO system had thrown a few "Low battery" symbols. Replaced each of the 1632 batteries that came with the unit last year, so now I should be good for another year! Now I just gotta get out and ride her again!

Finally got around to installing driving lights on the fenders and cleaning up the mess o'wires from previous projects: heated clothing liner and garage door opener among them. All works well, I like the lights turning with the wheels, and my garage door opener still works.
I'm not difficult to please. I need to get out more, I guess.
Oh; a while back, I put amber LEDs in the fog lamps. Not as bright as I had hoped, but sufficient for the purpose - being conspicuous!

I covered it up really securely with moving blankets so that the contractors who are using my garage as a shop while replacing most of the windows in our house won't damage it. They're also cutting the cedar boards for the window trim and priming the wood in the garage. So it's busy here. Plus, its raining. :(

I stopped by the local shop, where our Spyder is sitting waiting for a replacement compressor to arrive, and whilst we were there, the parts guy handed a carton (containing the replacement compressor from BRP) to the service department fella, saying that it was the part for our Spyder!

I hope sometime soon, when the weather is decent, we'll get a call saying come pick it up!!!

*fingers crossed*
