Winter Farkleing About Complete

this winter I set out to do a few things to the F3T. Wanted to remove all Silver (a little powder coating and Carbon Fiber wrap), install some lights, a voltmeter and a GPS. I have a few odds and ends to clean up, but it's almost complete. And with it being 55° here today, I took her out for a spin for the first time this year since she isn't in pieces anymore. Funny think is, I figured out how to do all that stuff on the Spyder, and can't figure out how to get my pictures right side up in here. :dontknow:

Too cold?

Hi folks.

All I can say is that you are in the wrong hemisphere. Last few days have been 40+ degrees celcious in Canberra, which is close to the Snowy Mountains, Australia's 'high country'. Too hot for comfortable riding . . .
Of course, by July it will be -7 degrees overnight, but a manageable 14 - 15 during the day. We don't know about interring our Spyders for the winter.

I trust you all emerge from your hibernation in good spirits.

Thanks. I hope so as well. I'm heading to Canada and East TN this year. Had to cancel Spyder Quest, but I should make it next year.

I think that I have wrapped up my Farkles for the winter as well. This was the second winter with the Byke so I was a little more brave.

i removed most all the tupperware, just to see what was under it and clean where nobody sees, not sure that makes sense!?

i did some insulating with duct tape and reflective tape, painted the calipers red, found the tie rods or steering rods were all chipped up, so I painted them bright red as well.

i installed the dragon mouth heat deflection system from Spyder pops, found a small radiator hose pinhole leak, spent some time researching and fixing that.

after all was done and together, with a thorough cleaning and polishing, I thought the rear plastic was dull, scratched and just plain boring. I got out the painters tape masked it all out, cleaned it really well bought plastic all in one Krylon Matt finish and made it beautiful again, better than new.

yesterday was 50+, with dry roads after the previous days rain washed away the salt, so I logged 100 miles just because. Just me and Joshua in the air!,

Chris, Your farkles look great even upside down. The hard work pays off

During the cold spell I worked to get the ST upgraded and ready for the road.
Bumpskid is install. Removed some earlier wiring to clean up the loom.
Driving lights and grip heater routed and connected to the the factory plugs.
New louder horn installed.
LED lights added to the Saddlebags.
Installed a trailer hitch.

Currently I'm building a small tail box mount for travel essentials
Waiting for my Voltmeter/USB port to arrive.
Next week I service the fluids and will be ready to ride.

I've just started working on my own Spyder over the last few moths.
