• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Whirring or buzzing sound

I'm sure this has been addressed before, my 2014 rt with 300 Kms on it has made this whirring or buzzing sound, that's the best I can describe it while idling and have noticed while riding, but not all the time, once or twice after a run and turning the key for start up later on.
Just wondering if I'm hearing things that are normal or should i run it up to the dealer. I have read somthings about fuel pumps, but not sure if that's what I'm hearing.
I just picked up the machine Saturday and I hope this is not the start of somthing.

Could be the fuel pump.
It seems there was a run of bad pumps that make lots of noise.
I've noticed the same with mine. I've owed it for about 5 weeks so far.
I have 2K on it now.
It will be replaced at the 3K checkup.

I recently posted this on spider talk. Does this seem like the same issue? That you were having?

I lately noticed an intermittent buzzing noise that sounds like it’s coming from under the seat near the rear of my 2014 Spyder (17,000 miles) when it is in 1st gear at idle at stoplights, etc. The noise disappears when I engage the park brake or put the machine in neutral and returns when I take the parking brake off put it back in gear? Nothing else appears affected. I’m not sure if the noise exists after I’m off and running because I couldn’t hear it over the engine. I can only hear it at idle. Any ideas on what it might be?

Hi @Flying V, welcome to posting on the Forum! (y)

However, you really need to check the date of the first post in any thread before replying/asking a question, and the dates of the last few posts, or in this instance, the only reply - a little bit of thread archeology doesn't generally hurt, if it's going to add to the knowledge/experience base here, but asking a question in a thread that's older than 10 years old, and of posters who haven't been on the Forum in a while, or in the originating posters case, ages, probably isn't going to get a helpful response from them.

You might want to try searching (see the Search button up toward the top right of the page, outboard of your username & the notification buttons) on the word 'Whirring' - click on Search; then enter that word into the search field; at least the first time you try, tick the box marked 'Search titles only'; then skip over the box marked 'By: Member' and click on the Search button below that; and you'll get at least a few threads about Whirring &/or Whirring noises in the results. If reading thru those threads doesn't answer your question, you can always try backing up and un-checking the 'Search titles only' box before resubmitting the search, but you will get at least a few pages of results, listing every thread with the key-word in it! ;)

And remember, before posting a reply/asking a question in a thread, do check those dates and ask yourself if that particular thread is the best place for your post, or at the very least, be aware that asking anything of the posters in a thread that's over 10 years old juuust might achieve nothing but an exercise in frustration! :sneaky:
