Well here in Vermont, we seem to be on a "Storm Train". In my area we did not get the Blizzard Nor'Easter, but we will be getting a few snow showers on the Western slopes of the Green Mountains and the Adirondacks of New York, with minor mountain accumulations expected. A clipper system arrives Wednesday, bringing widespread light snow to the region with minor impacts to both morning and evening commutes. After a brief dry stretch Thursday and Friday, a much warmer Saturday follows before a colder air mass returns with snow showers late weekend into early next week.
Tonight will see temps in the low teens, with minor accumulations up to 2" expected on higher terrain.
Tuesday's daytime temp will be cold and partly sunny. Night time temps will be in the single digits, and clouds will build in the late afternoon, which will keep the overnight temps from dropping further.
Wednesday will be chilly with light snow. Daytime highs are expected to be in the mid 30's, with snow likely through the day, heaviest during the morning and evening commutes. Night time temps will be in the lows 20's, with snow continuing into the early evening before tapering overnight. Blowing snow is possible along the higher terrain with visibility reduced temporarily. They are forecasting anywhere from 1-3"s in parts of Vermont and Northern New York.
Thursday's day temps will be in the upper 30's and it will be chilly, but mostly sunny. Overnight lows in the teens are expected, with a 40% chance of snow showers late on Thursday night, with a weak disturbance exiting. Any flurries will be isolated.
Friday, the daytime temps will be in the upper 30's. It will be mostly sunny and dry through the day. Overnight lows are expected to be in the upper 20's and it will likely be partly cloudy.
Saturday, expect temps in the upper 40's. It should be a much warmer day with temps running above normal, just a taste of Spring, but it will be brief. Partly sunny with increasing clouds later in the day. Saturdays over night lows will be in the upper teens, with a 30% chance of snow showers late and heading on into early Sunday. A trailing cold front will bring the return of winter-like temps and scattered snow showers.
Sunday and beyond, the Cold pattern returns. Daytime temps will drop back to normal on Sunday and on through next week with highs in the 20's. Over night lows will range from near zero to low single digits early next week. Scattered snow showers are possible Sunday night and Monday, with a 40% chance of precipitation on Monday. Mostly sunny conditions are expected between systems.
This past weekend I went riding on my snowmobile, the trails were fantastic.
68 degrees at 10 AM here in the desert. There's a 7 MPH breeze with gusts to 14. Humidity is 18% and there are no clouds in sight. The high today will be a comfortable 83 degrees. Reading about the blizzard hitting parts of the East Coast. Almost makes me shiver thinking about it....... Almost. Stay safe..... Jim
